The individual should be well-versed in Agile practices and Scrum events and should embody the core principles of agile development.A successful candidate for this role must possess exceptional interpersonal communication, facilitation, organizational, and time management skills. You are self-directing with the ability to mobilize efforts through people & process, to achieve desired results and be collaborative in driving decisions. You must have the ability to coach the team for continuous improvement in the delivery of value to customers. In addition, you will lead the planning, monitoring, execution, and successful completion of initiatives while meeting the financial, delivery and quality expectations.Office location: 500 King St. North, Waterloo, ON, CanadaWork arrangement: Role requires to be Hybrid – 3 days in Office (Waterloo office), 2 days from HomeResponsibilities:Lead and facilitate all the team level events (Backlog refinement, Planning, retrospectives etc.)Coach and drive the teams to deliver the commitments.Define and implement agile metrics to assess team performance, velocity, and quality, using data driven insights to enhance team productivity.Collaborate with development teams to ensure technology standard processes are followed, maintaining code quality and fostering a culture of technical excellence.Work with collaborators to establish and handle project budgets, track spend, maintain financial discipline, and provide insights for informed decision-making.Collaborate with the Product owner, Release train engineer and other Portfolio partners to optimize resource allocation.Identify and remove impediments and blockers via direct ownership, which prevent the teams from delivering their commitments, and to keep delivery on track.Work closely with product owner/product manager to efficiently create, maintain, and refine the product backlog.Foresee challenges teams will encounter and negotiate scope and commitments with other teams.Understand business priorities to efficiently coordinate multiple streams of work in parallel.Lead, track, and provide insight into squad progress, releases, risks, and initiatives health.Drive steadfast data driven continuous improvement to enable sustainable output and demonstrate progress toward committed actions.Empower the team to self-organize within the guardrails of Manulife’s new ways of working, while fostering healthy and engaging team environmentsCollaborate with other roles, teams and collaborators for alignment, dependency management, consistent messaging and uncover difficulties and opportunities to accelerate delivery.Promotes staff liquidity to remove skill gaps and internal dependencies.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in either business, technology, engineering, or equivalent experience4+ years of true Scrum master experienceProficiency in project budgeting and financial analysisAbility to lead and handle multiple agile teams across different mediums (In person, Remote, Hybrid).Validated experience with Agile and scaling frameworks.Experience working in the SAFe and scrum master certified.Strong experience and knowledge using Jira as a way for multiple teams to organize their work.Strong project management skills, excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.Ability to impact and change team behaviors.Demonstrable experience coaching and maturing teams toward self-organization.Nice to have:Knowledge of personal banking, mortgages, and loans.What motivates you?You obsess about customers, listen, engage and act for their benefit.You think big, with curiosity to discover ways to use your agile approach and enable business outcomes.You thrive in teams and enjoy getting things done together.You take ownership and build solutions, focusing on what matters.You do what is right, work with integrity and speak up.You share your humanity, helping us build a diverse and inclusive work environment for everyone.What can we offer you?A competitive salary and benefits packages.A growth trajectory that extends upward and outward, encouraging you to follow your passions and learn new skills.A focus on growing your career path with us.Flexible work policies and strong work-life balance.Professional development and leadership opportunities.Our commitment to you:Values-first culture
