Job description: About the TeamThe L&H Modelling Centre of Excellence (MCoE) is a large global team, responsible for creating and understanding the AXIS actuarial models and supporting tools relied on by hundreds of actuaries responsible for financial reporting and business steering across all Swiss Re L&H Reinsurance locations (US, Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia). The modelling team is focused on creating consistent, intuitive and highly efficient AXIS models and modelling tools for the entire L&H portfolio.With a team size of approx. 50 based across three global continent locations, the MCoE works closely with stakeholders to understand their actuarial modelling needs and executes the end-to-end modelling and tool development process including specifications, development, testing, governance and maintenance. The MCoE is also involved in driving new technologies to use data insights, and on optimizing modelling processes by implementing innovative solutions to achieve automation and efficiency.This role is a great opportunity for a strong actuarial student with a can-do attitude, an interest in actuarial models, and a desire to gain knowledge in the reinsurance industry.   • Work alongside AXIS developers and actuarial professionals to gain hands-on exposure to AXIS modelling.
  • Learn and adopt modelling best practices with guidance from mentors.
  • Assist in researching and exploring new tools and technologies to enhance the modeling process, with opportunities to learn and participate in their implementation.
  • Support data gathering by learning and using SQL to extract, interpret, and present data, with appropriate training and oversight.
  • Assist in the development of Power BI tools for data visualization and reporting to support actuarial analysis.
