  • Conduct power system studies including load flow, short circuit, and arc flash analysis to evaluate system performance, efficiency, reliability, and safety. Being able to conduct protection coordination studies is an asset

  • Prepare and implement Utilities Plan, which addresses roles and responsibilities, processes and procedures, applicable standards, and guidelines
  • Manage a project’s utilities work, starting from identifying existing utilities to confirming location and size of utilities to design and construction of utilities relocations all while keeping financial, environmental, and reputational risk to a minimum

  • Proficiency in systems lifecycle management, including V-model, interface definition, and testing alignment
  • Strong familiarity with ISO/IEC 15288 and IEEE 1220 Systems Engineering standards
  • Experience in Verification and Validation (test planning/PICO/FAT/SAT/SIT) would be an asset
  • Knowledge of identification and management of project risks
  • Understanding of the System Safety Certification processes and RAMS standards
  • Knowledge of CENELEC standards and Metrolinx Schedule 29 is an asset
  • Understanding of Requirements Management (RM) and usage of RM tools such as IBM Rational DOORS will be an asset
  • Basic knowledge of Civil design, Signaling principles, SCADA, Communications, Trackwork, Systems Assurance (RAM), Safety Assurance, Vehicle and Wayside Interfaces, Traction Power Design, Power Supply and Distribution, Mechanical, System and Train Simulation, Tunnel’s, and Fire Life Safety Systems will be an asset
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio
  • Strong communication skills, presentation skills, and report writing skills

Preferred experience:

  • Involvement in systems integration for transit or rail extension projects, ideally under a progressive or alternative delivery model
  • Familiarity with Requirements Management and Integration using tools like IBM DOORS
  • Familiarity with Metrolinx Design Standards and Design Manuals is an asset
  • Knowledge of transit-related subsystems including:
  • SCADA, Communications, Signaling, RAMS, Traction Power, Fire Life Safety, and Building Electrical/Mechanical
  • Experience supporting coordination of Verification and Validation (V&V) efforts, including test plan development and readiness reviews
  • Understanding of T&C readiness and risk of interface conflicts, design assumptions, or construction constraints
