Our team provides integrated transportation services throughout the project lifecycle from initial policy, transportation economics, and business case advice, through planning, concept, environmental assessment, detailed design, construction administration, and asset management support.Candidates’ career path:This role is intended for a Project Manager and Project Director interested in the advancement of their career in leading a wide range of municipal planning and design projects. The role will provide exposure to and opportunities for growth in business development, staff management, and operations management.Candidates’ career experiences may consist of:

  • Successful leadership of municipal road, bridge, and transit projects.
  • Leading the delivery and growth of GHD’s municipal transportation portfolio in Ontario, including driving high quality results, client satisfaction, financial performance, and business development strategy.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams for preliminary and detail design transportation projects for municipal clients as a Project Manager and/or Project Director.
  • Taking ownership for all aspects of the management of projects from proposal to close-out, including managing teams, sub-consultants, budgets, schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Providing technical and project leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.
  • Teamwork in small and large teams. Owning the integration with other engineering disciplines, engineers, and design staff in the production of high-quality project deliverables.
  • Promoting best practices and leadership in technical delivery and project management.
  • Supporting Business Development including client engagement, identifying opportunities, capture planning and leading proposals.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering
  • Ontario P.Eng. designation required (or eligible)
  • 15+ years’ experience in design and engineering of transportation infrastructure projects, including project management experience.
  • Experience working with municipal transportation clients within the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven track record to develop, mentor, and lead professional technical staff.
