About the Department:
We build and run the software and systems that power Cloudflare. We build innovative technologies that scale with our growing customer base and work behind the scenes to keep our products running smoothly.

About the Role:
This role involves solving complex problems and creating systems that can scale to a level that has an impact on a significant part of the Internet. You will work with top-notch software engineers, data scientists, and network engineers to ensure the reliability and scalability of the analytics platforms for the Cloudflare product line.

What You’ll Do:
– Design and implement systems that can scale to a level that has an impact on a significant part of the Internet.
– Create analytic models, develop supporting algorithms, and drive high-impact data-science initiatives to solve problems across the Cloudflare product line.
– Perform data exploration, feature engineering, model validation and other requirements to ensure best practices and data science quality are met.
– Work with data scientists, product managers, and team leaders to ensure the reliability and scalability of the analytics platforms for the Cloudflare product line.
– Contribute to strategic decision making and operational implementation to make us successful in constantly evolving and challenging situations.

– Python, Go, C++
– Distributed compute and storage systems like Apache Spark, AWS services, Google Cloud services
– Monitoring systems like Grafana and Datadog

Qualifications:
– 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role
– Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, C++
– Strong experience building and maintaining distributed systems
– Strong software engineering fundamentals
– Experience with monitoring and logging tools, and managing large scale data
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
