Position Description:
As a champion of entertainment, the Senior Product Manager has a passion for creating innovative digital entertainment products that drive growth and revenue for Bell Media. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Digital, the successful candidate also manages the ongoing needs of the entertainment team from a product perspective (i.e. execution of new digital product features to support new lines of business, implementation of new analytics tracking technology) and ensures that digital product roadmaps are aligned with programming goals.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
- Act as the primary digital contact for the entertainment teams (key stakeholders) regarding new product development initiatives, product upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
- Work closely with the Revenue Management team to set pricing for new sports products and estimate the revenue upside for new product ideas.
- Capture the needs of key stakeholders and ensure that new and existing products are updated or re-launched to support those needs.
- Create a product roadmap that aligns with the goals and strategies of key stakeholders (sales, ops, etc.)
- Work with the Product Owner and other product teams to coordinate and prioritize the launch/update of new products for key stakeholders.
- Works closely with sales and marketing in the creation of products that will generate revenue and positively promote digital brands.
- Report to the Sr. Director on the status of all projects in progress, performance of products in-market and identify market opportunities.
- Identify current and future product development needs and opportunities.
- Works with all stakeholders to ensure that all current and new products are measurable by our analytics platform and Comscore and optimized for search engines (where required).
- Monitor competition in the marketplace and recommend new market opportunities.
- Create strong relationships with stakeholders and lead updates on product development.
- Represent the digital product group in discussions with key stakeholders.
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
- Superior creative-thinking talent that delivers original and smart ideas
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate new ideas to internal and external stakeholders, particularly to advertising clientele
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability cultivate and build beneficial external relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal partners in a cross functional organization through partnership, collaboration and open communication
- Proven ability to drive results with sense of urgency
- Excellent project and time-management skills
- Highly pro-active, and flexible with the ability to adapt to a complex and quickly changing environment.
- Strong analytics skills with previous experience managing a budget
- Experienced in coaching and leading teams to deliver high performance
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
- 5+ years of experience in digital product and/or sales roles
- University degree at a minimum, ideally with a focus on marketing and business.
- Solid experience with online marketing tools and web-based technologies
- Understanding of how digital channels work
- Experience working directly with the digital advertising community is ideal
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
