Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Assistant Manager will be responsible and accountable for growing our trade titles. They will develop, deliver, and lead the strategic planning, budgeting, development and execution of newsletter initiatives, digital advertising and other content. They will be a key member of a dynamic and evolving marketing team.
Responsibilities
- Work with senior manager to assess strategy, planning and execution of email programs.
- Coordinate the production of emails by gathering content, writing copy, editing copy and obtaining copy approvals.
- Drive and shape a data-led performance marketing strategy, leveraging audience and targeting capabilities to maximize sales, promoting a reader-centric approach across all digital channels.
- Manage administrative tasks including onboarding freelancers/agencies and processing invoices.
- Manage blog scheduling for all HTP digital properties, including the BookClubbish blog.
- Strategize and manage digital advertising strategies on platforms such as Google, YouTube, BookRiot and Goodreads.
- Act quickly on insights to make improvements to content to ultimately drive improved engagement and growth on a weekly basis.
- Collaborate closely with brand marketing teams, authors, and sales teams to execute cohesive title-specific campaigns across social & digital platforms that will help reach book sales goals.
- Leverage third party analytical tools to help inform planning, user experience and new content opportunities.
- Occasionally ideate and produce social media content across the BookClubbish, HTPbooks and Inkyard Press social channels.
Qualifications
Specific training or job experience required includes:
- 2+ years of publishing experience, with a strong background in digital marketing, brand development and proven ability to establish and measure against campaign KPIs
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in marketing and/or publishing.
- Experience coordinating and executing newsletter campaigns.
- Microsoft Office proficiency and experience with project management tools.
- Working knowledge of Trello, Social Media Scheduling Software, SEMrush, Canva, & Photoshop an asset
- Exposure to website and/or blog page coordination
