Job description: GS1 Canada is looking to add an Email and Digital Marketing Specialist to its’ creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of digital initiatives to achieve planned organizational objectives. This will be achieved by advising, building, executing, and reporting on digital marketing initiatives, including email marketing assisting with web optimization (SEO) in collaboration with web developers, and overall post analysis of related campaigns. The Email and Digital Marketing Specialist is the subject matter expert, passionate about email marketing, digital, results driven, collaborative, creative in their approach and is accountable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build, manage and execute email marketing initiatives in a timely manner
- Stay on top of best practices to minimize spam rates, improve email database quality and keep existing data clean
- Drive continuous improvement on process and across key email performance indicators including deliverability, open rates, click-to-open rates, conversion rates and unsubscribes
- Collaborate on the design and maintain email templates that follow corporate brand guidelines using HTML and CSS
- Work closely with Technology to ensure CRM is optimized and data is feeding from all marketing campaigns
- Monitor and ensure compliance with PIPEDA, CASL, AODA and CMA best practices
- Make recommendations based on insights and best practice to optimize results
- Identify opportunities to improve the subscribers’ digital experience, including easy navigation, current and relevant content is shared on a timely basis and maintenance of SEO best practices
- Provide regular performance reporting and analysis to the business on website results using Google Analytics
- Collaborate with marketing team to ensure promotional banners and content is refershed regularly based on best practice
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Undergraduate university degree / college diploma in Marketing and Communications or a related field
- 4 – 6 years of experience in digital / email marketing role
- Experience working with Customer Relationship Management systems (specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365), email deployment tools (specifically ClickDimensions), analytical software (Google Analytics, HotJar)
- Knowledge of CASL and AODA compliance required
- Technical aptitude for software applications to support consolidation of data for analytics purposes, i.e. Power BI
- Strong working knowledge of keyword research and conversion optimization
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Access, Acrobat and other MS Office and Acrobat Creative Suite programs
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL. Strong familiarity with JavaScript and Flash
- Solid comprehension of FTP, web browsers, interactive media, SEO and SEM
- Excellent attention to detail (proof-reading and visual consistency) and proven ability to juggle multiple projects effectively, make fast decisions and prioritize short and long-term tasks with minimal supervision
