Title: Director, Digital Insights & Analytics
Location: Toronto or NYC
Who We Are:
Kantar’s Digital Analytics (Dx) team is a research, strategy, and measurement consulting group within Kantar focused on leveraging digital datasets, including digital marketing performance data, social listening, search behaviors, ecommerce data, and more. Our team combines expertise in digital marketing strategy, data storytelling & visualization, and data science & advanced modeling.
Our role is to help brands understand the shifting digital landscape, including what they can learn about their customers there and how to optimize their digital marketing strategies and activations with advanced analytics.
The Digital Analytics (Dx) was formed from Kantar’s acquisition of Mavens of London, a boutique digital consultancy which joined Kantar in early 2020 to expand the firm’s digital analytics & research expertise. Since joining Kantar, we now co-deliver alongside Kantar’s experts in other research practices, adding novel digital analytics approaches to broader, multi-disciplinary projects.
The Opportunity:
Directors are responsible for the design and leadership of analytics programs across our portfolio of digital research, measurement, and optimization solutions. They are responsible for managing senior client relationships, working with globally recognized brands to understand their business and marketing challenges, and designing digital analytics and research-led solutions that address those requirements.
Directors manage teams of consultants, ensuring a high standard of delivery with outputs that meet and exceed client expectations and operational targets. There will also be an internal team-development side of the role, including line management of both junior and management staff, helping to innovate, define, and communicate our key offers/capabilities, and leading consultative business development initiatives alongside Kantar client leads.
The role is part of the leadership group for a growing, high performance team of about 20, guiding our digital analytics business from Kantar’s NYC and Toronto offices. (While orbiting primarily around those two offices, our day-to-day work is a flexible hybrid of in-office working and work-from-home based on your preferences and occasional client & team requirements.)
Key Responsibilities Include:
Leading a team through rigorous and creative analysis of quantitative and qualitative digital data, including digital marketing analytics (Google Analytics, paid social platforms, Shopify), social listening,, search behaviors, custom gathered verbatims (e.g. posts/reviews from Yelp, Amazon, Reddit, etc.), and more.
Research plan design and management of research, strategy, and optimization projects to a high standard and quality of execution.
Line management of junior and management staff, guiding their development of hard and soft skills, their annual objectives, and their career development goals.
Identifying and addressing staff training needs, and facilitating the development of training programs and resource time to develop critical skills.
Management of senior client relationships, up to the VP/CMO level, including communication of requirements, our role within a broader strategy for the client stakeholder, gathering feedback about the partnership, establishing connections with other relevant Kantar experts, and building overall rapport.
Supporting directors in larger business development initiatives and taking point on smaller project-level business development.
