As a Summer Student Agronomy Intern, you will have the opportunity to work in different roles and develop your agriculture knowledge with hands-on experience in Agriculture Retail, as well as gain an understanding of the careers available at AGRIS.

Location:

Supporting multiple locations across AGRIS Co-operative market.

What will you be responsible for:

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience at every interaction
  • Understanding and supporting overall branch operation, administrative functions, as well as the branch and individual sales targets across AGRIS.
  • Actively involved in supporting all agronomic activities, working with the Agronomy Sales Manager
  • Hub work rotation – creating proactive activities that need to be done
  • Seed Distribution branch to branch in Season
  • Crop Protection Distribution branch to branch in Season
  • Importing maps – recs with precision ag specialist.
  • Creating, Managing, Planting, Taking Notes and Harvesting (if possible) AGRIS plots
  • Complete all IP walks/Maps for all of AGRIS
  • Scrub Soil Sample List
  • Participate in all Sales/CSM/Industry Launches/Training Opportunities
  • Assist Great Lakes Grain in GLG Crop Assessment Tour Preparation/Marketing
  • Assist CSS’s with Spring/Summer Scouting activities
  • Organizing signs/Sticker distribution/and put-up signs in targeted areas across the AGRIS geography.
  • Managing WBC Traps and Counts
  • Using Agvance Sky Mapping – adding specific entries/wash outs
  • Sales Call Ride along – understand the sales call process
  • Work with Agronomy Manager on Meetings/Grower Activities and Sales Calendar Activities
  • Support of agronomic recommendations with a focus on the Whole Farm Plan
  • Awareness of sustainability issues such as 4R Stewardship, Class 12 Pesticide rules
  • Extended hours, as required, during the busy season

Requirements for this Job:

  • Knowledge of agronomy, fertilizer, chemical, seed and grain marketing
  • Maintain a Valid Drivers License
  • Travel as required to support Farm Owner & Branch needs across AGRIS Co-operative Market
  • Computer literacy
  • At a minimum enrollment in a degree or diploma in agriculture or equivalent work experience

  • Team up with Sales, Marketing & Revenue Operations team and drive interlock on revenue forecasting assumptions
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure revenue forecasts are in line with accounting policy
  • Provide updates through the Weekly Revenue Flash for in-year revenue impacts based on revenue bookings trajectory
  • Analyze key SaaS KPI, such as ARR, NDR, churn, upsell and down sell and provide insights to the business on risks and opportunities
  • Support the business with deal assessment for new customer deals
  • Lead and coordinate the financial reporting and planning processes for the Agriculture business unit, including monthly risks and opportunities analysis, variance analysis, monthly forecasts (triage), annual budget, and strategic planning requirements.
