In this role, you will be accountable to deliver on digital brand related initiatives for Canadian Tire Corporation.

What You’ll Do

You will be the embedded digital marketing expert within the CTC Strategic Marketing team; responsible for marketing planning, monitoring and optimizing digital marketing campaigns. You’ll support marquee brand platforms and retail banners, including the CTC Brand Purpose strategy and consumer launch, Canadian Tire’s 100th Birthday campaign and the Party City business. You will work cross-functionally to deliver owned digital integrations and lead paid social and digital planning and execution across high-priority campaigns. Other responsibilities may include:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional marketing teams (including internal digital media agency) and digital media partners to build plans that support integrated marketing goals
  • Establish clear, measurable goals/KPIs that are aligned with brand and eCommerce objectives
  • Develop creative briefs and manage creative development process with Associate Marketing Manager for omni-channel campaigns
  • Measure campaign performance, providing insights and optimization recommendations
  • Lead social listening and community management efforts, identifying customer experience opportunities for the banner Party City (Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram & Tiktok)
  • Develop and manage organic social content strategy and manage social calendar to grow followers across channels (via SpredFast)
  • Liaise with internal digital agency as well as other key vendors such as Google, Flipp, etc

What you bring

Working amongst a high-performing and cross-functional team, we expect you to have excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to multitask in a deadline driven environment. You will be responsible for optimizing digital programs, delivering fundraising profitability and curating the digital journey. You will grow your leadership and coaching skills through managing indirect reports and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. We are also looking for someone who has:

  • Post-secondary education or related experience in Marketing, Business or Finance
  • Agency background or in-house experience in digital marketing environment is an asset
  • Social media management experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a digital marketing environment including campaign and channel strategy, execution and analytics
  • Experience using Bid Management, Ad Management and Analytic Tools: (DoubleClick, AdWords, Facebook Ad Manager, Power Editor, Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics )
  • Budget management experience

Day in the Life:

The Brand Marketing Specialist at The Bay will support in the development and implementation of the brand and product marketing strategies that are flawless in execution, on time and on budget. They will support the tactical implementation of marketing strategies by collaborating with their direct business partners, agency partners and cross functional team members to drive successful results.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with the Brand Team to execute integrated Brand campaigns and partnership activations. Based on results, develop and implement optimization plans to ensure the achievement of goals
  • Analyze and research industry trends and consumer preferences in support of developing the 360 marketing strategies for the designated businesses.
  • Prepare and present marketing plan review decks for key business partners
  • Under direction of the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing, support the conceptualization, prioritization and calendarization of digital content and email strategy for The Bay.
  • Populate creative briefs for weekly site content, social and email
  • Works with internal teams to secure vendor assets or samples, as required, for campaign productions. Tracks assets against creative briefs to ensure all are delivered complete and on time
  • Partners and solicits feedback from eComm Category Management team
  • Other duties as required in support of the marketing team

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Commerce preferred
  • 2+ years of demonstrated and progressive success in marketing, advertising and/or product management roles
  • Strong understanding of Canadian retail marketplace including digital led retailers
  • Experience working with brand or corporate partnerships strengthening brand awareness and affinity
  • Strategically minded with an understanding of the marketing function, has had exposure and/or worked on brand, communications, creative & media strategy (traditional and digital media)

The Canadian Liver Foundation is seeking an Associate, Marketing & Communications. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, initially working virtually from home (during COVID-19) and later transitioning to the National office in Markham, Ontario.

To fulfil the role, this strong, dynamic, and entrepreneurial individual will need to be a strong member of the marketing & communications team.


Core Roles & Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications

  • Support the development of print and electronic communications and marketing materials, including the CLF Annual Report.
  • Support production of communications and marketing materials, including external and internal pieces
  • Coordinate with regional teams for promotion of their events, projects, and programs.
  • Write compelling pieces for community engagement, fundraising, and awareness.
  • Assist with the development of all aspects of advertising for marketing and media materials such as PSAs, digital ads and print material as required.
  • Manage translation into French of all documents intended for online distribution and other documents, as needed.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with CLF community, including patients, caregivers, doctors, volunteers (for the purpose of understanding audience needs and preferences, sourcing stories, etc.).
  • Measure and report on marketing & communications program efforts including content marketing, earned media efforts, and more as needed.
  • Bring an inclusive lens to our marketing & communications materials, ensuring to be conscious of inclusive language, perspectives, and voices.

Digital & Social Media

  • Keep abreast of the latest tools, trends and platforms in the digital marketing space to maintain the digital program’s reach and effectiveness.
  • Create original content for blog posts, coordinate and secure contribution of guest blog posts.
  • Create, coordinate translation and schedule content for national social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
  • Support execution of digital campaign materials during key periods (Liver Health Month, STROLL for Liver, Giving Tuesday and Year-End Giving, etc.).
  • Support email marketing program, working with the Manager, Database & Analytics to manage audience segmentation, marketing automations and email campaigns.
  • Create and deploy emails in support of email marketing strategy using Luminate Online.

Media Relations

  • Monitor industry news and mentions using Meltwater, providing internal summaries of media monitoring efforts.
  • Write backgrounders, news releases and pitches on a variety of liver health and liver disease subjects, for key campaigns and national events.
  • Secure proactive earned media placements to position the CLF as an industry thought leader, for key campaign periods and for fundraising events.
  • Field incoming media enquiries and work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to manage accordingly.
  • Track and communicate metrics regularly using reporting tools such as Meltwater and MRP.
  • Build and maintain media contact lists and develop strong relationships with media contacts.

Administration

  • Provide departmental invoices to the Director, Marketing & Communications as needed.
  • Support liaison between the CLF and third-party vendors.
  • Manage the Webmaster email inbox.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in public relations, marketing, communications, digital marketing, or relevant field
  • 2+ years of experience in a digital communications role with social media and digital responsibilities
  • Solid understanding of integrated marketing and campaigns, media relations and communications
  • Superior writing skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Superior verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Technical savvy, comfortable working with web and social applications and proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media management tools, Canva, MRP, Meltwater
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite an asset.
  • Willing to travel if required

  • Manage timelines, creative and approval processes with key senior level stakeholders across the organization
  • Directly manage team of 2-3 Program Managers focussed on managing content projects
  • Advocate for best in class content across the organization
  • Collaborate and lead conversations with cross functional groups and continuously find innovative ways to incorporate content across our channels and ensuring a consistent customer journey.
  • Establish and manage project deliverables and teams, provide stakeholders project status updates, and keep project on time, on budget, and of high quality.
  • Work with AVP, Creative & Content Management to identify gaps in process & accountabilities to help determine operational solutions as the team grows & evolves
  • Responsible for chairing & leading meetings to present creative to “internal clients” in order to share work, discuss feedback, advocate for the creative work as required, build consensus around next steps, communicate results post-meeting to the project team (Creative Director, Art Directors, Writers, Producers, 3rd party as required)
  • Identify new opportunities for our in-house creative team to take on new projects based on creative and business opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with content Producers on the project requirements and work together to find creative solutions as it pertains to original video and original photography.
  • Coach and mentor Program Managers and other members of the team/department

What you bring

  • 7-10 years of professional work experience account management or project management at a creative agency actively managing projects that require photo and video shoots
  • Deep knowledge on processes involving photoshoots, video shoots, post production, animation and talent usage / rights management
  • Strong relationships with various types of production partners in order to select the right production partner based on creative direction, budget and timelines
  • Proven results directly managing a team of account or project managers
  • Directly responsible for managing $3M+ budgets and financial reporting
  • Experience building teams and growing an agency
  • Expertise in: Microsoft Office, PM Tools and Workflow systems with experience with Wrike as an asset
  • Advertising Agency Account Directors are encouraged to apply OR

What you’ll do

The Manager, Paid Social will play a key role in continuing to build out CTC’s digital ecosystem through building and deploying the digital marketing strategy across social platforms. The Manager will establish Paid Social capabilities in order to deploy personalized digital marketing campaigns and will manage external partner relationships, as well as an internal team.

  • Work with internal marketing communication teams, performance teams and e-commerce teams with social digital strategy, performance accountability and brand promotion
  • Lead a team of Social marketing operations specialists overseeing day-to-day activities across Social buying platforms
  • Engage in direct conversations with digital media partners to build and manage CTC’s Social media marketplace
  • Work closely with ecommerce and agency partners to ensure proper tagging and set up of all digital campaigns to allow for accurate data capture and campaign analytics across digital media and CTC digital properties
  • Stay ahead of the curve by constantly evaluating new digital delivery opportunities in the form of, but not limited to media buying platforms, third-party data providers and verification tools
  • Provide support and technical know-how for all digital technology projects as needed
  • Operate with a test and learn mindset, promoting a lift-led organization
  • Create alignment among cross-functional teams to define priorities and measure success

What you bring

  • College or university degree in Marketing, Economics, Business, Finance or related discipline
  • 7-10 years professional digital marketing experience from either agency or client side
  • Demonstrated experience in media buying platforms, ad serving and relationship management
  • Significant background and expertise in strategic planning and project execution
  • Well-versed in digital marketing technologies as well as online marketing programs
  • Experience with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, DOMO, Facebook Business Manager, etc.)
