  • Serve as the media contact for national/regional/qualifying golf championships across Canada.
  • Facilitate media requests from journalists at Golf Canada championships.
  • Create and maintain local/regional/national media databases.
  • Produce written advance stories and daily recaps for Golf Canada championships.
  • Assist hired photographers on-site during play and with award presentations.
  • Update/produce media guides for Golf Canada championships.
  • Upload photos into the PhotoShelter database following Golf Canada championships.
  • Assist with social content capture (photos, short videos) at Golf Canada championships.

2. RBC Canadian Open and CPKC Women’s Open

  • Assist with communications initiatives for Golf Canada’s professional championships (RBC Canadian Open and CPKC Women’s Open) including media day, media guides, player performance guides, and credential applications.
  • Assist with credentialing and media sign-in at both professional championships.
  • Support media centre set-up and daily operations during tournament week.

3. Administrative Support

  • Develop written content for Golf Canada’s online and social properties.
  • Research, fact check, write, and distribute media releases in a timely manner.
  • Uploading content onto WordPress (website).
  • Uploading and distributing press releases and recaps using the Mailchimp platform.
  • Previous experience using WordPress and Mailchimp considered an asset but not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma or working towards one in public relations, communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Previous experience and passion for writing is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and administration skills.
  • Exceptional skill and proficiency with phone, interpersonal and email communications.
  • Strong decision making and conflict resolution abilities.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced MS Excel skills.
