Who You’ll Be Joining:

We have a unique opportunity for a creative storyteller who is passionate about technology and sustainability to join ecobee’s Communications team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications, the Communications Specialist will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of internal colleagues and agency partners to grow the ecobee brand and voice through internal & external communications.

You will be joining an amazing team of marketers and creatives that are focused on delivering meaningful impact to customers’ lives and to the environment.

This role is hybrid with an expectation to be in the Toronto office at least 2 days per week.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

Internal Communications

  • Execute the internal communications strategy at ecobee and share best practices with the team.
  • Manage internal communications initiatives including managing the monthly Company Meeting, internal comms calendar, internal announcements and newsletters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including executives, HR and finance at ecobee, and the communications team at Generac, to draft, review, and edit internal communications.
  • Partner with HR to drive employee advocacy and increase employee engagement.

External Communications

  • Partner with Senior Communications Manager and agency partners to execute strategic PR initiatives to drive brand awareness across relevant consumer, technology, business, and trade press.
  • Work cross-functionally with agency partners, Generac’s communications team, legal, and other internal partners to advance communications initiatives.
  • Cultivate relationships with key journalists from local and national media outlets.
  • Write and edit press releases, press kits, pitches, Q&As talking points, blog content, and other related materials.
  • Manage influencer agency and execute influencer strategy and content.
  • Work closely with the Social Media Manager, and the rest of the Marketing Communications team, to ensure PR plans are integrated and amplified through relevant channels.
  • Measure and analyze PR program results; manage budgets and assess campaign ROI.
  • Prepare media activity reports and agency performance reviews.
  • Contribute to annual planning.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Progressive work experience in public relations with a proven track record executing successful public relations campaigns.
  • An educational background in communications, journalism, writing, media, or related field.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills.
  • Media relations experience.
  • Ability to decipher highly technical information into enticing internal and external communications.
  • An understanding of how social and digital can work to amplify internal and external communications.
  • Adept at working in a highly collaborative, fast paced, and agile environment.
  • You are solutions driven and are excited to solve problems with the team. You are creative, detail-oriented, and curious.

Who’ll You Be Joining:
You’ll be joining the Digital team at ecobee (within the broader Marketing organization at ecobee), a tight-knit team of 24 who support ecobee web products, mainly ecobee.com and ecobee.ca. The team consists of PMs, Designers/Copywriters, and Developers who team up to ship new products and features on ecobee.com. As the Digital Sales Manager, you’ll be working extremely cross-functionally with Marketing (Digital Marketing, Customer Lifecycle Marketing, Product Marketing) to identify and drive new revenue-generating opportunities on ecobee.com and ecobee.ca . This role is hybrid, based out of Toronto, Ontario, and reports to the Sr Director, Digital.

How You’ll Make an Impact:
You are a collaborative and analytical Sales Manager with a customer-first mindset, who is passionate about driving revenue growth and creating best-in-class user experiences on . You are excited about leveraging data and consumer insights to identify and bring-to-market opportunities that drive sales and growth across ecobee’s Energy (Thermostats, Room Sensors) and Smart Security (Bundles, Cameras) lines of Business. You equally enjoy numbers and people, are passionate about creating great customer experiences, and have a knack for creating buy-in and excitement across teams towards a common goal.

  • Develop and own the Digital (ecobee.com/ecobee.ca) sales strategy, including the promotional roadmap, and all opportunities that improve conversion on dotcom
  • You will work very closely with ecobee’s Marketing team (Digital Marketing and Lifecycle Marketing) to ideate, plan, and bring to market campaigns and tactics that drive revenue growth on ecobee.com.
  • Lead the annual Budget and monthly revenue forecasts for the Digital channel, leveraging historical trends, insights and market data. Manage tracking of sales vs. targets, along with identification of risks and opportunities
  • Own sales reporting and post-mortems for the Digital channel, building a deep understanding of sales attainment to forecasts, alongside a view of insights (what’s working/not working, future recommendations)
  • Manage ecobee’s eCommerce store (currently on Shopify platform), including SKU and inventory management, new SKU launches, promo code management, etc
  • Identify and lead business casing of new sales opportunities within Digital team (ex. New promotion, pricing test, launch of new product or bundle, launch new payment construct or method on dotcom, cart upsell opportunity, etc)
  • Bias for action and rapid learning through agile testing (ex. A/B tests), that provide rich insights and identify future opportunities for growth or improvement
  • Deeply understand the ecobee customer, our business, and the broader market
  • You’ll be the go-to for all things eCommerce and Sales for Digital
  • You’ll get the opportunity to present to executive audiences regularly

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Min 3 year’s experience in Sales or Marketing, with solid track record of leading revenue-generating initiatives from ideation to implementation
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills. You are comfortable with numbers, and can put together business cases to understand the EBITDA impact of new opportunities
  • Experience leading revenue Budgeting and Forecasting within a product, business unit or channel
  • Experience reporting on sales, and knack for deriving key learnings, insights, and actions from data
  • You’re comfortable leading cross-functional teams, and rallying folks together to brainstorm, align on plans, and manage projects through to execution
  • Effective communicator: strong presentation skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of organization (including executive audiences)
  • Familiarity with Shopify or other eCommerce platforms is an asset, but can be learned
  • Familiarity with Digital analytics tools (Amplitude, Google Analytics, Adobe, etc) is an asset, but can be learned
  • Self-starter, curious, and energetic
