Reporting to the Editor, Social & Distribution, you will be responsible for sourcing, verifying, writing and editing journalistically sound and concise news headlines and images for various digital platforms and formats. You will supply vital news and information for millions of Canadians viewing screens on elevators, transit systems, televisions, and beyond. You are a resourceful self-starter with working knowledge of digital content management systems, online newsgathering, verification techniques and social media publishing tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor all available online, social media and conventional news sources to stay on top of breaking and developing news
  • Source, research, verify, write, edit and update digital news headlines under tight deadlines in a high pressure digital newsroom environment.
  • Select compelling visual images to accompany digital news headlines.
  • Edit headlines for a variety of audiences, including conventional TV viewers.
  • Deliver monthly reports from our web traffic using Google Analytics and social platforms and advise on improvements.
  • Must have experience of website hosting, domain names, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Practical knowledge of some of the following Digital Marketing tactics including, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay Per Click (Google), Display Advertising, Google Analytics, Email Marketing, Content Marketing, Social Media Advertising and Management and any other newly emerging traffic building and measurement programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness.

What We Need From You:

  • A degree or diploma in related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong writing skills and a passion for accuracy
  • Competency operating and troubleshooting a proprietary digital headline publishing interface
  • Familiarity with social media publishing and analytical tools.
  • A demonstrated high level of care for the user experience.

Description and Requirements

You will work closely and communicate with the retail marketing team to ensure alignment of creative across functions. You will stay up to date on design best practices and retail guidelines as well as consumer research to inform creative recommendations. We need someone motivated to work both as a team and independently, who can maintain a positive attitude managing and leading multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The preference is that the candidate live in Canada, Mexico, or Argentina.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide graphic design work for the client in alignment with the brand guidelines

Able to create original and custom designs in addition to following provided templates and brand guides (varies by project)

Manage graphic design projects and prioritize projects with the retail team to ensure on-time delivery

Work with retail partner s and internal team to activate preferred product marketing content including product and specialty photography, feature/benefit messaging, and product tour videos.

Create and post rich, compelling product marketing content, aligned to North America target audiences, to Amazon.com A+ pages.

Edit and adapt global digital marketing content to meet local retail partner requirements.

Use design comps provided by the marketing manager to develop additional sizes and campaign elements as needed.

Provide ideas and graphic translation of ideas to adapt content to the different customers

Provide print ready designs and adaptations for low-run print production projects including, but not limited to: brochures, flyers, business cards, banner stands, posters, and postcards.

Provide the creative aspects of digital projects including, but not limited to: websites, mobile apps, email blasts, content marketing/social media, advertisements, case studies, template backgrounds, and diagrams

Mock up premiums and give away items such as: water bottles, shirts, pens, notebooks, etc. providing artwork using the client’s templates and specifications Maintain graphic design files and folders: including stock photography, logos and client design projects

Other tasks as requested by management

Create excels with information related to products and partners EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design required

100% English

Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a Graphic Design position required

Must have experience designing print materials

Must have some web design experience

HTML banner experience a plus

Mobile design experience is a plus

Experience creating custom email blasts a plus SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Must be highly proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat Must be able to use a PC computer

Must possess a strong sense of concept development, in addition to communicating a concept verbally and written Must be familiar with Microsoft applications including: Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Must have strong design and layout abilities

Must be able to work with or without a Creative Brief

Must possess the following qualities: energetic, quick learner, problem-solver and a self-starter

Must be a team player who is able to collaborate with team members and stakeholders

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a sense of urgency

About the Position

The Associate, Digital Marketing is the content go-to on the marketing team, involved in the creation, management and distribution of content on our website and newsletters. This is a 12-month contract position.
Key Responsibilities

  • Execute content strategy through competitive research, editorial planning, benchmarking, and audience identification
  • Build assets for O4AY digital channels, including social, email, web, paid ads and video by incorporating best practices and following brand guidelines
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to develop content, events, reports, landing pages and uncover opportunities for integrated marketing campaigns
  • Build, manage, and execute content and social media calendars based on editorial plan
  • Analyze campaign results and provide actionable recommendations for improved performance
  • Build tool kits and assets for employers, funders, community service providers
  • Other duties as assigned

How You Innovate
Improve existing content and social media properties and help improve the new O4AY digital experience by researching current trends, improving community experience and identifying opportunities to innovate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, college diploma, or relevant work experience
  • 1-2 years in a digital marketing, content management, or social media specialist role
  • Proven working experience in content marketing, social media marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist
  • Write and edit content (Blog posts, images, etc.) based on existing content marketing strategy
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and visual hierarchy
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Strong organizational skills, specifically the ability to manage and execute multiple marketing campaigns
  • Experience with marketing content development. Creating collateral including but not limited to designing creative assets, and blog posts for internal and external audiences
  • Proficient in WordPress, Canva, Google Cloud suite (Drive, sheets, slides, jam boards, etc.), Yoast SEO, google analytics, google adwords, google tag manager.
