Job description: The Opportunity: Boost your career and come join our professional, motivated, and fun-loving finance team working for a Canadian-based public company. Reporting to the Manager, External Financial Reporting, you will play a key role in the quarterly and annual close process, financial statement preparation, and legal entity reporting. You will continue to grow your knowledge of external reporting requirements and IFRS as part of the team responsible for preparation of external financial statements and MD&A.Any MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by June 06.   • Completion of various month end validation tasks using financial systems to ensure accuracy of balances;
  • Preparation of journal entries, and running the consolidation process in Business Planning Consolidation (BPC) which is the basis for our public financial statements;
  • Preparation of financial statement notes and coordinating inputs for MD&A for external reporting;
  • Coordinate & consolidate quarterly analyses;
  • Process review and proactive continuous improvement;
  • Liaise with external auditors including preparation of responses to quarterly questions;
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and follow-ups;
  • Perform ad hoc financial accounting analysis and financial reporting as required;
  • Involvement in quarterly testing of reporting internal controls (C3); and
  • Other duties and special projects, as required.
