What we’re looking for

Generis organizes and delivers industry leading conferences throughout the United States. Our focus on transforming the way people connect has allowed us to work with exciting brands such as Toyota, Lululemon, GE, SAP and Bombardier.

We are seeking a passionate, motivated, marketer to join our newly established, and growing, Marketing Department. As the Social Media and Communications Coordinator, you will enter into a key role of responsibility within the company, accountable for the management and development of our corporate content, email campaigns, and key client outreach initiatives.

Generis is a quickly growing company that has gone from an organization of 5 to an organization of 40 in two years. We are seeking a hardworking individual who can grow within the company, and has the potential to take on additional roles and responsibilities as we develop.

Key Responsibilities

Generis Content Generation

  • Generate cross-channel content (eBooks, blog posts, articles, infographics etc.) for distinct audiences across seven industries
  • Research and understand the content of the summit, the summit audience and the roles within the industry to generate topical and timely content
  • Analyze the efficacy of content pieces and drive improvements
  • Effectively communicate the activities and outcomes of Marketing campaigns to Senior Management
  • Constantly seek ways to innovate and improve processes, content and the overall value offering

Client Content Generation & Distribution

  • Work with our high level summit participants to help share their content and generate new content that will appeal to our attending audiences.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with our supplier partners
  • Work with our suppliers to develop a content generation strategy to promote their participation and demonstrate their thought leadership
  • Generate collaborative content (eBooks, blog posts, articles, infographics etc.)
  • Plan and execute content distribution schedules

Email Campaign Management

  • Generate email content to promote the upcoming summits
  • Manage and maintain the master list of contacts for each of our events
  • Manage email responses and coordinate the distribution of leads to sales and sponsorship associates
  • Track and report on the activities and outcomes of email campaigns
  • Provide training where necessary on internal email processes

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide support for other marketing initiatives and activities as necessary

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong research and comprehension skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple ongoing projects
  • Technical writing skills and the ability to generate strong content for B2B audiences
  • Familiarity with social media channels and content distribution strategies
  • A desire to learn about new industries and businesses
  • A desire to grow within the company
  • Design or aesthetic skills, and the ability to generate visual content
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign will be considered an asset (but not a necessity)

Working hours: Normal business hours are 8.30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 8.30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, with a lunch break for one hour between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Office Location: The Generis office is located in Downtown Toronto (Richmond & Bathurst).

The Opportunity!

We are looking for a Content & Social Media Specialist to support our Marketing team for a twelve-month contract term. You will be responsible for providing support to the social media department, assisting with influencer marketing efforts and in house productions and leads social media co-op initiatives. The role reports to the Manager, Content Marketing and will be located in Toronto, ON.

What You’ll Do:
  • Collaborate with the Content Marketing Manager to generate organic and paid content for our various social media channels.
  • Assist with the generation of ideas for the content that fits our brand messaging and tone.
  • Assist in schedule automation of posts on various social media platforms.
  • Maintenance of the social media content calendar.
  • Effectively monitoring and reporting on social media results and generating reports for social media channels based on KPI’s.
  • Source relevant influencers for various initiatives and oversee all proof of performance for influencers and produce reports.
  • Lead logistical planning for location shoots (flights, accommodations, transfers).
  • Lead clearance of equipment in foreign countries.
  • Occasionally provide on the ground support for destination film trips.
  • Production assistant for internal studio.
  • Team lead to ensure that co-op plans that include social media element are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Other duties and projects as requested.

What You’ll Need:
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Social Media Marketing.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be organized and practice effective time management.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and very approachable to support other team members.
  • Must be able to undertake some business travel.

About You:

You are a natural problem solver and engaging Social Media agent. You are responsible for brand reputation management and providing an exceptional customer experience on every interaction. Experienced in anticipating client needs during all stages of travel, from trip planning, to their return home, the Social Media agent can multi-task, prioritize, and communicate for a seamless online experience. You work towards a high online community standard of excellence.


What You’ll Do:

  • Demonstrate rapid response and company emphasis on quality customer care, transparency and authenticity to a large, public audience through the use of multiple social media tools
  • Identifying trends and potential crises, liaising with various departments to respond with urgency to protect the brand’s reputation as situations arise
  • Focusing on providing exceptional service for every aspect of the customer experience
  • Assigning inquiries to other areas of the Sunwing Travel Group and following up to ensure that they are received and responded to
  • Seeking out sales opportunities, and convert them into bookings through tracking and follow-up communications
  • Responding to customer emails with empathy and accuracy through the Sunwing “Contact Us” inbox
  • Handle the recovery process for a service failure, in pursuit of the higher goal of prevention
  • Preserve the relationship between the business and our travel partners, to the best of their ability
  • Share feedback and suggestions from the online community to the management team to drive positive change
  • Other duties as assigned


What You’ll Need:

  • Exceptional customer service & sales skills
  • Travel and Tourism education or employment, or social media customer service background an asset
  • TICO Certification a requirement
  • High level knowledge of TTS, Sprout Social, or Zendesk an asset
  • Customer Experience driven, results oriented achiever
  • Self- motivated team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
  • Flexible work schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends
