Job description: The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.Greenstone Mine is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for providing repairs, overhauls and new builds to mining related equipment. This position will employ reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting functions.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Performing assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls on 793F CAT Haul Trucks according to schedule.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Make recommendations regarding extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
  • Interpret work order and technical manuals.
  • Complete job specific reports and paperwork as needed.
  • Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety, and follow all rules and legislation.

  • Prior experience in an industrial setting – mine site experience is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
