They will work with creative briefs and brand guidelines to produce digital and print-ready design files that enhance Wattpad’s platform, advertising, social media, and more. This role involves overseeing design projects from concept to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and iterating on designs based on Stakeholder and Creative Team feedback to continuously improve standards. The Senior Designer will develop original concepts for campaigns, source and utilize stock images, stay current with digital trends, and integrate new ideas into designs and brainstorming sessions.The ideal candidate demonstrates strong visual design and creative skills, a deep understanding of creative problem-solving approaches, and the ability to work within and extend existing brand systems. They will mentor new designers through active feedback and peer reviews to uphold quality, consistency, and brand adherence.This role requires effective management of deadlines and priorities while maintaining high standards of work. The Senior Designer will develop and document scalable, repeatable, and shareable marketing design processes.Please note, the deadline to apply for this opportunity is September 18, 2024.Thematic Responsibilities:

• Lead Design Projects: Oversee the creation and execution of visually compelling designs from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with brand and strategic goals.
• Incorporate Feedback: Receive and act on feedback to iterate and refine designs, continuously improving quality and adherence to brand guidelines.
• Document Processes: Develop, document, and standardize marketing design processes to ensure they are repeatable, scalable, and shareable.
• Mentor: Provide guidance and training to junior or new designers, offering constructive feedback and resources. May be a part of interviewing creative team talent.
• Brand Adherence: Uphold brand consistency across all projects, mediums, and touchpoints.
• Utilize Stock Resources: Source and integrate stock images and other resources as needed to enhance design projects.

Key Accountabilities and Behaviours:

• Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Partnerships, to ensure cohesive design solutions.
• Manage Deadlines and Priorities: Effectively balance and manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines while maintaining high standards of work.
• Conduct Design Critiques: Participate in and lead design critiques, providing thoughtful input to ensure creative excellence and consistency across the team.
• Innovate and Stay Current: Develop original concepts for campaigns, stay updated with digital trends, and incorporate new ideas into design solutions.
• Present Work: Present design concepts and final work, clearly articulating design decisions, inspiration, and strategy.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Graphic Design with proven experience leading design projects and working with cross-functional teams.
• Exemplary working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Figma, or similar tools
• Design portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including website design and digital and print projects, with evidence of creative problem-solving and high-quality execution
• Ability to comfortably communicate creative ideas with stakeholders and turn feedback into high-level solutions without sacrificing the quality of work
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Approaches challenges with a positive, solutions-based attitude
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality, polished designs
• Experience in mentoring or training junior designers and providing constructive feedback
• Experience pitching and presenting design work to internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders
