Job description: DescriptionRole Summary/PurposeThe Lead Product Support Engineer – Production End of Line Test will execute the performance validation of engines and gensets through the production end of line test. The position will work in a collaborate team environment by participating in new product introductions, product troubleshooting, engine data requirements, and validation of our products before leaving the factory. This person will utilize their engine/genset systems integration and performance knowledge in this role.Essential ResponsibilitiesServe as production test engineering interface between factory and center of excellence:
- Solve technical issues by providing rapid response to manufacturing engineers, technicians, and production test team
- Solve production test issues regarding both engines and gensets, defining both short-term and long-term corrective actions
- Create and review engine test specifications, final test reports and automated test scripts.
- Understand the data acquisition systems, including how they interact with our products.
- Participate in project technical design reviews for new product development projects, provide input regarding current product issues and production test capabilities to the project team, support new product launch, custom sales order projects, and engineering change implementation.
- Work closely with technical and cross-functional personnel to develop and document technical quality processes.
- Demonstrate professional characteristics necessary for working in and leading teams such as task definition, team building, mentoring and training both local and remote colleagues, collaborative interpersonal skills, and effective communication.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design Technology from an accredited university or college or equivalent working experience in the field or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in a manufacturing or field environment running, troubleshooting or servicing engines.
- Knowledge to operate and troubleshoot an engine or genset understanding it’s performance operational requirements.
Desired Characteristics
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with components and systems of reciprocating internal combustion engines and/or engine-driven packaged equipment.
- Strong fundamentals in engine and genset performance criteria and operation.
- Ability to create and develop data reports using automated tools.
- Current product support and problem-solving experience.
- Organizational skills required to manage multiple projects and/or activities.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% if required.
- Ability to work various shifts to support plant.
