  • Supporting the legal and compliance departments in relation to their corporate, reporting and transactional work including but not limited to:
  • Managing and maintaining corporate books and records (including ensuring that all books are available in electronic format and that information is updated on the parent company’s database);
  • Completing corporate reports and filings with provincial & federal regulatory authorities;
  • Conducting corporate research and updating governmental registries;

  • Manage and maintain databases of sample contracts and forms;

  • Develop a case file indexing system that can be used as an active archive for all ongoing and completed files;

Your profile

  • Successful completion of an accredited Law Clerk Program and related corporate law;
  • Four (4) to six (6) years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house (in-house experience is not required) as a corporate law clerk with responsibilities including organizing and working with corporate books and records;
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance and commercial law;
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and time-management skills;
  • Effective written and verbal communication and organization abilities;
  • Strong report-generating skills;
  • Proficiency computer skills including Word, Excel software and ability to quickly adapt to newly implemented softwares;
  • Ability and preference to work with an in-house legal team with a focus on collaboration, communication and efficiency;
  • Interpersonal skills required to interact with both the business, internal and external legal groups and to partner with others;
  • Willingness to participate actively in the implementation of most efficient interactive processes taking into consideration the need to facilitate access and communication while increasing accuracy;
