Job Title: Community Support Worker
Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary: $20 – $25 an hour
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Our client, a reputable non-profit organization in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Worker to join their team. As a Community Support Worker, you will work directly with individuals in need of support, providing guidance, assistance, and advocacy to ensure their well-being and success.
Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement personalized support plans for individuals based on their specific needs
– Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to individuals facing challenges
– Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household chores
– Advocate for individuals to access necessary services and resources, such as healthcare, housing, and job training programs
– Monitor and evaluate individual progress, making adjustments to support plans as needed
– Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to coordinate services and ensure comprehensive support for individuals
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interactions and services provided
– Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required
Qualifications:
– Diploma or degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field
– Previous experience working in community support or social services
– Knowledge of support services and resources available in the community
– Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is an asset
