About the role:
As the Digital Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for generating demand for MCAN/XMC through strategic brand awareness initiatives and tactical, targeted content and campaign development.

You’ll be drawing on your strong, creative and analytical skills, deep understanding of the tools to execute efficiently and on budget – all while having great communication skills to successfully plan, design and analyze content across all target channels including SEO blog copy, social posts, sales enablement assets and landing pages.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Create engaging, on-brand email marketing collateral
  • Design and functionality of all website content – creation, and implementation of the content strategy to ensure online objectives are met
  • Be the go-to person for the website(s), managing the day-to-day via the CMS, closely monitoring user behaviors to optimize for engagement and acquisition
  • Create and maintain content calendars and copy across social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest

  • Advise on strategy and tactics to drive on-site conversion and lead generation

  • Developing, managing and designing layouts of communications such as presentations, newsletters, event support materials, research papers, and brochures etc.
  • Management and optimization of CRM and related integrations across the pipeline and conversion path

The work experience, skills, education that you bring to the role:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media or equivalent or post-secondary education in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a financial industry and/or a mortgage lending company is an asset
  • Experienced working with Salesforce
  • Experienced in Ad Ops, Google Analytics, Google Ads, social ad platforms and best practices
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEM
  • Experienced working with SEMrush, Zapier, Unbounce and email applications

  • Build and manage marketing funnels, personas, automation, and A/B testing on the new website. Assist with populating products, content, and other digital assets.

Analytics and Reporting (20%)

We are looking for a business-oriented, dynamic change agent to fill the role of Digital Property Optimization Specialist.

As a Digital Property Optimization Specialist, you will:

Web Development and Design

  • Manage all external digital properties, channels, platforms and tools, ensuring alignment with firm strategy and best practices.
  • Manage daily content optimization for on and off page site search on mccarthy.ca, microsites and blogs.
  • Work closely with Clients and Market Team to ensure content is updated, tagged and promoted in relevant areas of the website.
  • Oversee and managing various digital vendor partners.
  • A/B testing, conducting assessments of capabilities and performance.
  • Execute ongoing enhancements to the firm website, microsites, social media, blogs and digital marketing tools from design and coding to deployment.
  • Enhance functionality, troubleshooting issues and implementing ongoing UI/UX improvements to website and all digital platforms, working in collaboration with the design team.
  • Support the launch of marketing campaigns and ad programs into market.
  • Execute inbound requests for web updates.
  • Build capacity to convert leads on web site, score, and push to Sales Automation Platform.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of site performance including ongoing site optimization, ensuring link quality, proper build of new landing pages, effectively managing for all the things third party SEO tools identify as issues.
  • Liaise with IT on Technical maintenance of the site.
  • Support digital distribution when required for marketing mail sends from design and coding to deployment, testing and reporting on performance.

Site Analytics

  • Perform data analytics, synthesizing quantitative and qualitative findings into actionable insights and communicating them in a compelling, digestible way.
  • Develop weekly reports and dashboards to track performance and leverage insights to optimize digital marketing campaigns for all digital channels (web, social, etc.).
  • Tracks, measures, synthesizes, and reports on key performance metrics and data for all digital marketing activities, channels and platforms via Google Analytics and other platform and/or channel specific reporting tools. Specific activities tracked include general website analytics, program and campaign metrics, email marketing performance, SM and working with Research team on media and external publication metrics.

Go-to-Market Tactics

  • Advise on strategy and tactics to drive on-site conversion and lead generation.
  • Collaborate on content marketing, channel strategy and performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Execute go-to-market digital strategies in partnership with the Clients and Markets Team.

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Demonstrated aptitude with analytics platforms (Google Analytics) and SEO.
  • Post-secondary degree or certificate and a minimum of five years digital marketing communications experience in complex environments.
  • Seasoned web developer/site manager experience working in a digital marketing environment.
  • Experience in a large, matrixed organization. Professional Services experience an asset.
  • Proven web development experience across multiple devices, webviews and browsers.
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise websites, social and/or CRM & email marketing platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in web design and coding, with a high level of proficiency in HTML, CSS, Python, Java, WordPress. Drupal, Aquia, Figma/Envision and Jira experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and visualization tools a plus.
  • Proven ability to simplify and distill complex problems into intuitive and elegant experiences.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Ability to think quickly and critically on a broad range of digital marketing topics, across various verticals.
  • Bias towards action and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Professional attitude and service orientation, with exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations and urgent requests.
  • Capacity and credibility to engage with Leadership and Board members of the Firm, including experience and ability to present to executive-level clients.
  • Bilingual (French/English) an asset.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of Digital and Email Marketing experience; experience in e-commerce operations, including knowledge of supply chain, fulfillment, digital marketing and customer service processes
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Proficient with Google Marketing Tools (Webmaster, Analytics, AdWords, Merchant, Tag Manager) and/or IBM Core metrics
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Applied knowledge of web protocols (HTML 5). Must be able to program simple HTML pages
  • Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications
