The Territory Manager will be responsible for supporting customers in the GTA and North Ontario, defining, and developing a business pipeline of opportunities that align with the company’s objectives and to our customers’ goals. They are also responsible for supporting cases and managing consignment inventory within their territory. Individuals will exhibit strong clinical and technical expertise, stay current on product updates, programs, and competitive knowledge across the hospital system but mainly focused in the Operating Room.Additionally, the Territory Manager will build and maintain constructive relationships in key accounts with key decision makers and influencers including but not limited to surgeons, physicians, nurses, technicians, materials management, and hospital management.Responsibilities:

  • Achieves and manages sales targets through effective management of base business as well as new sales opportunities.
  • Develops a pipeline of opportunities and a business plan for the territory.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop key accounts based on business plan aligned to both organizational and customer goals.
  • Develops and maintains a level of excellence in clinical knowledge within respective disease states and technical knowledge of the products in the portfolio.
  • Promotes all required BD products and services via phone, email, and in-person to end-users and distributors, works with an experienced and fully qualified sales perspective utilizing developed contacts to promote the business and fosters a supportive educational approach with all key contacts to develop long term relationships.
  • Lead consignment management across hospitals within territory with the support of the BD Canada Consignment team
  • Develops and maintains a level of excellence in territory management, pipeline management and selling skills.
  • Customer management of stakeholders involved in the clinical, technical, and economic aspects of procurement.
  • Builds and maintains sustainable strategic business relationships in key accounts.
  • Performs product demonstrations, customer education and in-service as required or requested to ensure the efficient and effective use of Bard / BD products.
  • Manage the territory with integrity and in accordance with BD’s Code of Ethics and all applicable policies, rules, and procedures

Education and Experience:

  • University Degree required- business or science preferred.
  • Required to possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the health care field, OR/surgical experience preferred, and have a proven track record of high-level sales success.
  • Required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years as well as meet BD’s auto safety standards.
