Day In the Life

The Brand Marketing Manager is a results-driven marketer, with a passion for bringing style and quality to consumers everyday. The Marketing Manager brings our private label long-term strategy to life executing in-year campaigns with excellence in a fast-paced and quickly transforming omnichannel retail environment.

As the Brand Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for The Bay’s private labels including the launch of an exciting new fashion brand across Canada. With a strong understanding of the consumer, you will develop seasonal strategies and initiatives aligned to the master brand vision, with the goal to build awareness and drive our private label business. Through collaboration with key brand and business partners you leverage the go to market process ensuring the brand makes relevant connections with consumers. You are proficient in writing effective creative briefs for campaigns and marketing initiatives to turn innovative plans into strong results and deliver on brand objectives & KPIs. Additionally, you have a passion for creating digital media campaigns and can effectively develop and analyze a media plan with support from agency partners. You will track and optimize plans in-flight to change as necessary with robust post campaign evaluation and learnings to continually improve.

What you will do:

  • Drive brand vision and strategy for The Bay’s private labels including detailed annual and seasonal brand plan
  • Lead brand process seasonally including integrated strategic brief development for creative and media stakeholders including clear desired results
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on business development and strategy driving profitable growth
  • Leverage external and internal agency relationships to drive game-changing creative executions that re-imagine our private labels while complementing The Bay master brand
  • Use consumer, market, cultural, and competitive insights to drive the brand plans & KPIS
  • Presents strategy and concepts to leaders across the marketing organization and cross-functionally to drive shared understanding and direction
  • Led by a consumer first mindset, continually seeking to better connect and serve They Bay’s consumers

What you will need:

  • 4+ years of experience in a marketing role, with proven experience in developing and bringing integrated campaigns to life, while leading team(s)
  • Strong understanding and a passion for the fashion industry, brands and products
  • Canadian retail marketplace knowledge – focused on omnichannel brands and retailers
  • Experience driving success in on-line business (digital retail space)
  • Proven success in bringing new products or brands to market
  • A natural communicator with exceptional presentation skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Proven collaborator across brand and business teams to deliver results
  • Innovative thinking – looking for new and better ways to connect with consumers
  • Ability to create and evaluate effective media plans driving key results
  • A results oriented marketer who knows how to get things done

Position Description

As a Digital Recruiting & Engagement Administrator, you will be working closely with the BPTN Recruit and Marketing teams. You will help own and manage the posting and applicant tracking process for roles from BPTN partner companies. You will also assist with activities to drive engagement of both partners and members via our digital channels to increase the visibility of the roles within the network and drive qualified applicants.

Core Responsibilities

– Source qualified Black identified tech candidates both within and outside the BPTN network to satisfy a range of roles as needed by our corporate partners
– Build and maintain relationships with various community partner organizations, colleges and universities, student associations, etc. to ensure a steady pipeline of both new graduate and experienced talent for the network
– Own and support the end-to-end job application and candidate submission process via our applicant tracking system (Bullhorn) as well as 3rd party networks such as LinkedIn and Glassdoor
– Work directly with BPTN partner companies to secure roles and post them to the network
– Support partner inquiries and requests regarding the job posting process
– Own the job posting and candidate submission processes for qualified candidates to BPTN partners
– Onboard qualified candidates to the BPTN community
– Monitor social engagement of posted jobs on BPTN Slack, LinkedIn and other channels
– Assist the BPTN community manager to advertise partner job postings using digital ads and social media
– Assist with BPTN partner engagement activities to increase visibility of jobs within the network and drive applicant conversion
– Research and trial digital engagement tactics, implementing and expanding where outcomes are successful
– Provide feedback to the BPTN product team to guide platform evolution
– Assist the BPTN recruiting team with event planning and coordination as needed

Experience

– Experience with digital community management or engagement would be an asset
– Familiarity with recruiting and administrative support processes

Qualifications

– Completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent
– Strong aptitude for social media, digital marketing and their use in business
– Strong relationship building skills, able to interact with a variety of people with ease
– Strong communications skills, able to clearly communicate issues, plans and ideas
– Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments that touch various areas of the business (Customer Experience, Marketing, Recruiting)
– An agile mindset – comfortable with working in sometimes ambiguous situations where testing and learning/failing forward may be required in order to develop the right solutions

What you’ll create and do

As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

  • Key player in the execution of brand marketing plans

  • Understands and participates in project planning, administration and budgeting

  • Understands and supports the connection of marketing efforts (advertising, events, sponsorship, digital/content etc.) and the tracking of ROI across media

  • Reviews and edits marketing materials to ensure content produced is of high quality, with consistent use of PwC guidelines

  • Writes content for a variety of external communications: email, blogs, digital advertising including full ownership of the development of event invitations and select internal communications

  • Collaborates with the Design team to develop marketing collateral such as thought leadership, event invitations and promotional materials

  • Collaborates with the Digital marketing team to maintain and update the PwC Canada website

  • Manages the risk, independence and branding guidelines processes for various marketing initiatives

  • Process and track the payment of invoices to ensure vendor payments meet all deadlines

  • Contributes to the development and execution of social media campaigns using resources such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram etc. Provides recommendations as needed

  • Collects all metrics and reports on the performance of marketing campaigns and external events to the necessary stakeholders

  • Ability to conduct ongoing competitive intelligence and external market research

  • Responsible for the deployment of demand generation campaigns using the Firm’s campaign management tool

  • Contributor to the planning of all aspects of event management logistics, including critical path development, invitation development and distribution, registration management, event team liaison, list management/creation, presentation development, ROI metrics, and other related support as needed

  • Collaborates with the business on building client and prospect lists. Manages the client lists for mailing and other market-facing activities using contact management system
