ANIDA is looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join our Communication and Technology (C&T) department and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. As we are celebrating our 25th anniversary, ANIDA wants to reinforce its relationship with its audience. Using an inclusive, thoughtful, and accessible approach to our communications the individual will foster new relationships, while nurturing and building upon the old ones.
This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a thriving charity that aims to reduce poverty through its programming in Canada but also internationally. The youth will be part of an exciting initiative to strengthen our digital and marketing strategy. The youth will have the opportunity to contribute to this initiative in a significant way and gain valuable experience in digital marketing, audience engagement, mailing campaigns, fundraising campaigns and content creation.
The Marketing Assistant will:
- Work closely with Media and Communication Coordinator to connect with and engage our audience and the local community in meaningful ways through a variety of online communication channels and digital media, as well as more traditional forms of print media.
- Assist in day-to-day operations relating to marketing, social media and fundraising events.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of campaigns designed to highlight ANIDA’s programming activities and draw awareness to the services and programs available to community members.
- Develop content calendars on a weekly and monthly basis for the organization.
- Work with the Development & Fundraising department to create engaging blog posts and social media content for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn that speaks to our donors, funders and corporate partners.
- Monitor analytics with the C&T team, gather data to measure, manage and analyze marketing performance to identify patterns and develop viable marketing strategies.
- Connect with church and corporate partners to build our Newsletter audience.
- Participate in documenting activities at our local food bank program and have weekly meetings with teams internationally. This will connect them directly with all stakeholders contributing to the development of a holistic communications strategy.
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Previous experience in marketing, social media, or other related fields.
- Experience and comfortable using Adobe Photoshop.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and with all backgrounds.
- Has a computer they can bring to the office to work on.

Duration: June 20th – August 19th (2 months)
Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Hourly Wage: $16.75/hour
Shifts: Shifts will be 9 hours and will be between 7:00 am – 5:00 pm with the exception of Wednesdays. Wednesday shifts will be between 7:00 am – 9:30 pm. Fridays will be from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm during the summer.
