The content you create is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, graphics, video, and other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, success is measured by your ability to explain complex topics in a way that your audience can understand.Responsibilities:

  • Write customer-facing documentation including overviews, how-to guides, user guides, and reference material for the KB.
  • Create articles, images, infographics, technical white papers, videos, solutions documents, product communication, release notes, UI text, PDFs, customer journey, screen caps, and related content to support objectives.
  • Organize existing documentation, identify and fill documentation gaps.
  • Help keep document roadmap aligned with product and engineering roadmaps.
  • Participate in product discovery / UAT to get a head-start on documentation, help ensure consistent terminology, and suggest UI-text improvements.
  • Build a demand-driven feedback loop with customer service and customer success to create and improve documentation.
  • Edit, clarify, and enhance documentation written by others.
  • Become a product “power-user” to anticipate customer questions before they ask.
  • Evaluate competitor documentation to benchmark quality and identify documentation opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years experience at a tech company creating technical documentation for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Ability to understand privacy, security, and encryption subject matter at a technical level.
  • Ability to understand source code.
  • Experience writing for the web.
  • Solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills.
  • Graphic editing skills a bonus.
  • Ability to effectively utilize modern tooling in the context of content creation.
  • Ability to define objectives, measure success, and constantly iterate based on results
  • Ability to output quality content at a high velocity: 4-6 articles per week.
