Dome’s customers include TSN, Rogers Sportsnet, RDS, ESPN, Fox Sports, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, just to name a few.The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely compilation and maintenance of the company’s financial records in their entirety. This includes financial accounting and reporting for month ends, quarter ends and year ends as well as coordinating the annual audit. In addition, this position is responsible for motivating and managing a team of 7 direct reports.Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the month end accounting process in an efficient and timely manner and ensure all information is accurate and in accordance with IFRS.
  • Coordinate with departmental managers across the company to ensure monthly expense accruals are complete and accurate.
  • Ensure client billings follow the company credit policy and that there is a timely collection of receivables through regular review of A/R subledger.
  • Resolve any supplier concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly to ensure that company books are accurate, neat, and properly maintained.
  • Act as main accounting liaison with corporate partners and sister companies.
  • Coordinate the annual audit including preparing and reviewing all supporting documentation and acting as the main point of contact with audit staff.
  • Coordinate the preparation of all tax information required in support of our Partner’s tax returns as well as Dome’s US tax returns.
  • Provide managerial support and motivate staff. Address any staff concerns or issues that may arise. Conduct annual and mid-year performance reviews with direct reports in addition to annual Objective setting.
  • Continually review and improve financial processes to provide required financial information in the most efficient and accurate manner.
  • Establish, update, and enforce internal controls on an ongoing basis.
  • Implement changes in Canadian sales tax rates/policies to the company and its processes.
  • Special projects and assignments on behalf of Director, Finance

Critical Qualifications

  • College or University degree
  • At least 7 years of accounting experience in a progressive capacity, including supervisory experience.
  • Recognized accounting designation (CPA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong accounting technical skills including experience working with computerized accounting systems
  • Knowledge of SAP is highly desired.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and solid Microsoft Word knowledge
  • Proactive with the ability to identify and solve problems across the accounting department and company-wide. Strong interest in what Dome does is crucial for success.
