Title: Indigenous Health Worker
Location: Northern Territory, Australia
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Indigenous Health Worker to join our dedicated team in the Northern Territory. The successful candidate will work closely with the community to provide a range of health services and support to Indigenous individuals and families.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide culturally appropriate health education and promotion
– Work collaboratively with the local health team to deliver holistic care
– Conduct health assessments and screenings
– Support clients with chronic disease management
– Assist with transport and cultural support for individuals accessing health services
– Maintain accurate client records and reports
– Contribute to community engagement and health programs
– Work in accordance with cultural safety principles and protocols
Required Skills and Qualifications:
– Certificate III or IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
– Solid understanding of Indigenous culture, community, and health issues
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
– Experience working in a health or community services setting
– Compassionate and respectful approach to client care
– Current driver’s license and ability to travel between communities
