Job description: Employee TypeFull TimeVacancy TypePermanentTown/RegionHalifax, NSAbout the roleThe successful candidate will work on the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) program within the Ship Integration team. They will be responsible for supporting the design and certification of magazines on board River Class Destroyers through the WOME (Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions, and Explosives) Cross Product Team (CPT).The role encompasses the following responsibilities:
- Certification of Magazines to Def Stan 00-101
- Reviewing Ammunition routes for in harbour and at sea
- Support WOME sub-CPT through regularly scheduled meetings
- Work with Industry to ensure Ship Class Explosive Safety Report is completed
- Analyzes ammunition safety information
- Evaluates ammunition handling equipment
- Supports Ammunition Operability Statements
What you bring to the role
- Degree or diploma in computer, electrical, mechanical engineering, naval architecture and/or combined Combat Systems Engineering experience
- 5-8 years of professional experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong teamwork skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to prioritize competing demands
- Must be able to obtain North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret security clearance
Additional skills desired for the role
- Weapons Engineering Tech.
- Armament background
- Magazine custodian
- Ammunition officer
- Experience with IBM Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) is considered an asset
