  • Convert entrepreneurial leads from inquiry through to application stage of our process
  • Identify and ensure rigorous follow-up on high-potential prospects via our customer relationship management system.
  • Attend and coordinate events that provide opportunities to engage prospective and current entrepreneurs
  • Facilitate presentations and workshops that promote Futurpreneur programs and support entrepreneurial skill development.
  • Assist other programs and regions, as and when required.
  • Work in collaboration with Client Relationship Managers (CRM) to ensure a smooth transition of applicant to funding stage.
  • Create lead generation opportunities across the region, while collaborating with existing and new partners

Business Development – Mentors

  • Attend and coordinate events that provide the opportunity to engage prospective mentors.
  • Manage prospective mentor inquiries regarding mentoring program and application process.
  • Communicate with CRM regarding fulfilling mentor gaps.
  • Recruit mentors and encourage them to register with Futurpreneur to support our entrepreneurs.
  • Coordinate events as required that offer the opportunity to recruit new volunteer mentors

Business Development – Strategic Partners & Referral Partners

  • Connect with strategic and referral partners on a regular basis to keep Futurpreneur top of mind to their staff, and maintain relationships
  • Identify potential partners through research, events, networking and referrals
  • Be in regular contact and maintain good relationships with Futurpreneur’s partners to bring entrepreneurs to a loan approval stage.
  • Facilitate partner onboarding; train new and retrain existing partners and ensure they are fully aware of Futurpreneur processes
  • Follow-up with partners to make sure they have all the tools and information they need to represent us well with their customers.
  • Manage relationship with referral partners, as well as grow the number of partners if and where appropriate.
  • Participate as required in the activities of partners in the ecosystem to engage community partners and recruit entrepreneurs in search of financing and mentorship.
  • Coordinate events that offer the opportunity to engage Futurpreneur partners, as required.

RequirementsWhat you will have:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (40% of this role includes local and provincial travel).
  • Relevant experience may include education with a focus on business administration, economic development, entrepreneurship or equivalent hands-on career experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, start-up business development or economic development position.
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs or business startups, business plans and cashflows is considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to tailor and deliver public program presentations and workshops.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence.
  • Proficient with computer skills; experience with a Customer Relationship Management system is required
  • Strong client focus with the ability to work with volunteers.
  • Confident, proactive and motivated, able to work with a minimum of supervision.

Server & Network Administration (20%)

  • Be responsible for the administration of the following:
  • Active Directory (ADUC, site replications, AD Connect, DNS, Meta Data cleanup, GPO implementation, etc.). Windows Server (DHCP, DNS, MMC, IIS, Server Manager, etc.).
  • VMware (VM setup, monitoring, etc.). Veeam local, cloud and O365 Backup Administration.
  • SSL setup and configuration (new, renewals, wildcard).
  • Recommend data-center optimization or rebuild (i.e. updated visualization, Azure, etc.)
  • Succession planning for legacy Windows server O/S (i.e. Windows 2008, 2012, etc.).
  • Administer organizational networks (multiple sites, public / private Wi-Fi, ACL’s, IPsec VPN, Client VPN, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose network errors or failures.
  • Maintain and configure networking hardware (i.e. AP’s, Sensors, Switches, etc.)
  • Perform upgrades to network equipment.
  • Monitor IT systems to provide recommendations to IT Manager / team on IT efficiencies as well as working with the IT team to improve systems and processes.
  • Utilize monitoring software to establish benchmark performance (i.e. CPU, Memory, Disk) utilization and proactively identify potential issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, manage, review, and update Access Control Lists (ACLs) to control and monitor access to networks, systems, and applications, ensuring compliance with organizational security standards and current security policies.

RequirementsWhat you will have:

  • Relevant experience may include education with a focus in Computer Science or a closely related IT field, or equivalent hands-on career experience
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar IT role supporting systems, networks, and data
  • Expertise in Threat Detection and Mitigation, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Management, Incident Response, Network Security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Endpoint Security
  • Experience administering systems based on Compliance and Regulatory Requirements

Requirements

  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful completion of data projects
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, policy changes, and best practices in data research and analysis within the entrepreneurial ecosystem
  • Conduct research comparing Futurpreneur’s overall performance and impact against industry standards and best practices
  • Stay updated on industry trends, policy changes, and economic indicators that could affect Futurpreneur and its stakeholders
  • Produce actionable insights and recommendations based on research findings

Data Collection

  • Identify valuable data sources for competitive intelligence and enhance/automate the data collection processes
  • Collect and gather data from various sources, including Futurpreneur’s CRM database and Loans system, industry reports, Statistics Canada, publicly available government sources, websites, surveys, and other relevant repositories, using appropriate tools and methods such as web scraping, SQL queries, and API integrations
  • Build and maintain relationships with external data providers and vendors to ensure the timely and accurate acquisition of relevant data for analysis and visualization purposes

Data Analysis

  • Develop and implement data models to represent complex datasets and business processes, facilitating data analysis, visualization, and decision-making
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities within the competitive landscape and broader ecosystem
  • Present research findings to senior management in a clear and concise manner, using data visualization techniques (such as charts, graphs, and interactive dashboards using Power BI, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics CRM, while exploring new tools like Tableau, Googlecharts, Infogram) to effectively communicate complex data insights to stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Work with senior leadership and various teams to make recommendations to adapt and evolve existing business strategies and propose solutions. Some of the areas include:
  • Market Research – Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, contributing to strategic planning and program development
  • Long term business performance – Conduct thorough research and gather insights on the long-term performance, including survivability of businesses supported by Futurpreneur. If needed, collaborate with external partners to validate data and utilize advanced data scraping techniques to uncover key insights
  • Macroeconomic factors and predictive analysis – Examine significant macroeconomic factors affecting young entrepreneurs in Canada. Implement predictive analytics to anticipate trends and challenges facing young entrepreneurs, providing strategic recommendations to enhance Futurpreneur’s support programs
  • Funder Reporting and Insights – Provide data-driven insights and analysis to support the Partnerships team to identify and target potential corporate partners, develop partnership strategies and proposals, and secure or renew provincial or federal funding for Futurpreneur proposals and any related reporting
  • Collaboration and Training – Work closely with various departments to understand their data needs and provide training on data tools and best practices to enhance overall data literacy within the organization
  • Provide backup and support to the other Data & Insights specialist on the client experience reporting

Data Management

  • Organize, structure, and maintain data in a logical and meaningful way, including creating databases, data dictionaries, establishing naming conventions, and developing folder structures to facilitate efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • Perform data cleaning procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data, including identifying and resolving inconsistencies, errors, and missing values in large datasets.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and data processing workflows to ensure timely delivery of data.

What you bring:

  • Relevant experience may include education with a focus in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Maths or other quantitative field or equivalent hands-on career experience
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
  • Experience in data mining and statistical analysis
  • Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
  • Knowledge of R, SQL and Python; familiarity in programming languages like SAS, Java/Python or C++ is an asset

As a Digital Marketing Coordinator, you will play an integral role in the wider Marketing & Communications team contributing to the continued growth of the organization’s overall success.
