Content & Community Support Specialist

This role serves in a support capacity to our project and development team. As part of this position, you will be engaging with all aspects of development and work directly with the project lead. You will be engaging with users of our app to source feedback and bugs and provide that information to our development team to ensure maximum quality of the product. This is a multi-language role and you will be expected to translate from English to other languages and vice versa. This is primarily a communications role with some technical expertise required.

This is a part-time / contract role with the possibility of becoming a full time role.

Fluency in English and Traditional Chinese (written and spoken) is a must. Middle School or High School experience in Taiwan is a must. Fluency in Japanese and/or Korean is a plus.

Key responsibilities:

  • Test new builds of the application for visual or functional bugs and communicate these issues to the development team.
  • Prioritize bugs and issues for the development team with feedback reports.
  • Provide translation of written content for the application.
  • Engage with users over social media channels to resolve issues, receive feedback, and positively represent the app’s brand.
  • Help organize the project schedule with the project manager.
  • Be present and engage in team meetings and scrums where required.

Key Skills:

  • Fluency in English and Traditional Chinese is required.
  • Fluency in Korean or Japanese is a plus.
  • Experience in translation in the past is strongly preferred.
  • Experienced user of mobile apps. Experience with development or testing apps is a huge plus. Understanding of app development cycle, user experience design, or debugging apps is an advantage.
  • Good communicator who can both delegate tasks to others and work independently.

Contract length: 4 months

SUMMARY

The lead producer for in-game social media will be responsible for leading the NHL’s social media content & programming during NHL game action. This person will oversee a team of copywriters and creators who lead the conversation about hockey across social channels by publishing the best moments & highlights, creating high-quality original content, and curating entertaining commentary from around the hockey community.

This person must thrive in an agile environment, where jaw-dropping highlights, breaking news & major storylines can occur at any moment. They’ll be tasked with prioritizing projects, delegating responsibilities, and managing communications between internal partners and external stakeholders.

The right candidate is eager, self-motivated, and enthusiastic, with a burning passion for the game. They’ll be constantly vigilant and proactively seeking opportunities to spark conversation and create original content. They will have extensive experience with a wide range of media including video, photography, GIFs, etc. – and a strong understanding of the unique environment on each social platform.

Nights, weekends & holidays will be required based around the NHL game schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a team of copywriters and creators
  • React quickly to news & storylines and adjust content & programming strategy on the fly
  • Develop and package original content in various formats in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure that all copy and published assets are grammatically correct and factually accurate
  • Drive conversation across social platforms by engaging with fans, teams, players, partners & more
  • Work closely with supervisor and greater social media team in the planning and development of social content
  • Collaborate regularly with internal and external stakeholders including the NHL.com editorial team, NHL PR, NHL clubs, broadcast partners and more on distribution strategy
  • Apply data and insights into publishing strategy and content development
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-8 years’ experience in social media and/or content creation, preferably for a sports brand
  • Outstanding creative instincts with a proven ability to ideate quickly and collaboratively
  • Extensive portfolio of impactful original content produced by candidate
  • Exhibits confidence and strong judgement with editorial decision making
  • Extremely organized with the ability to constantly reprioritize tasks
  • Passion for hockey and extensive knowledge of the NHL, its teams, players, history, rules, etc.
  • Deep understanding of the ever-evolving social landscape
  • Tremendous written & oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Applies an entrepreneurial approach to their work
