  • Participate in safety training and on-going field Health, Safety, Security, and Environment processes. PPE required for the work will be provided by WSP.
  • Participate in technical training related to investigations and testing being done on site. We welcome anyone an interest and curiosity in the geotechnical, rock, or environmental fields and look forward to training you and giving you experience and insight into potential career paths.
  • Work alongside geotechnical, geophysical, and rock mechanics engineers and technicians in the field to learn about logging geotechnical boreholes, specialized testing in boreholes including packer testing and geophysics, and monitoring well development.
  • Assist in the movement and organization of the rock core samples both on-site and a storage location off-site. You will have the opportunity to learn about core logging and sample selection for advanced laboratory testing.
  • Be willing to work overtime and weekends as required; the program is scheduled to run for 10-12 hour days, but there is flexibility for this role in the daily assigned hours.
  • Participate in First Nations Cultural Exchange activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • An interest in geology, drilling/rock core sampling, geotechnical, geophysical, and/or geo-environmental engineering, working on the water for aquatic infrastructure construction and/or the Ontario Pumped Storage Project.
