Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Public Relations Assistant position is responsible for assisting both the Director and Digital Marketing Specialist to help and create a public relations database.
REQUIREMENTS

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with drafting media releases and media advisories.
- Assist with creating content for newsletters.
- Assist with creating a media database.
- Maintain accurate information and documentation.
- Assist in organizing, and providing coverage of events and campaigns.
- Collaborate effectively with the Marketing and Communications team and various internal and external stakeholders to align departmental initiatives with Agency goals. Execute tasks in an efficient and client-focused manner to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings and events.
- Engage in regular meetings with the Director and other staff to discuss individual and team effectiveness.
- Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and the Mission, Vision, and Values of Dixon Hall.
- Other Duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or another related program.
- Relevant work experience (placement opportunities included) in similar environments is an asset.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and database management.
- Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
- Dependable, punctual and flexible.
- A second language is an asset.
- Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.
- Must have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.

Job Description
Position: HVAC Technician
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems. You will work on a variety of equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration systems.
