  • This position reports to the Director, Global Industrial Partnerships, LM Global Business Development and Strategy.
  • Extensive knowledge in industrial development/industrial participation/offsets and countertrade arrangements.
  • Serves as regional subject matterexpert, collaborating with external customers stakeholders and internal Business Area leadership for all LM Industrial Development programs in Canada and the Latin American region along with serving as the in-country Industrial Development team leader.
  • Works with Industrial Development and program teams in supporting the development of strategic industrial development proposals to meet cross-corporate needs.
  • Design and develops recommendations to strategically enhance the corporation’s international growth objectives including expertly activating new business opportunities; leveraging extensive knowledge and ingenuity for complex problem solving to deliver state of the art solutions and desired results
  • Manage cross-corporate Industrial Development coordination
  • Provide liaison for Business Areas with all industrial partners, industrial authorities, industries/businesses and various business councils. Establish and maintain key relationships among key business, military and academic leaders and senior country officials.
  • Presence to engage senior leadership and key decision-makers with LM business opportunities; demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with senior leadership and key decision-makers; demonstrated ability to share information and to coordinate with Corporate and Business Areas.
  • Act with prior consultation, coordination, and communication among Business Area Industrial Development leadership to further OneLM business industrial strategies/objectives and enable most favorable policy/regulatory environment and most efficient discharge of industrial obligations; ensures complete coordination with Business Areas prior to in-country engagements/messaging.
  • Presents and proposes LM corporate and business area industrial initiatives/projects to country senior leadership and key decision-makers to obtain buy-in and deliver results.
  • Conducts business in strict compliance with all corporate and company command media and within applicable state, federal, and international laws and regulations.
  • This position will be based in Canada with a preference for Ottawa, Ontario as the hybrid work location. Final work location will be discussed during the hiring process.

What you bring to the role

  • 10+ years of Industrial or business development experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian and Latin American Industrial Development landscape, country requirements and political/policy trends.
  • In depth experience with industrial development programs/policies, including familiarity with required supporting activities such as sight surveys, contractors’ oversight, agreement negotiations and post-performance reporting.
  • International business experience with knowledge of international cultures and customs
  • Demonstrated customer relations skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills necessary to clearly communicate with multiple levels of business, government, and LM leadership.
  • Team Player – demonstrated ability and effectiveness at organizing and motivating a diverse set of individuals in pursuit of common objectives
  • Ability to understand and interpret international customers’ needs and requirements and communicate them back to Business Areas.
  • A willingness to travel worldwide without restriction. Must be able to operate and thrive in a fast-paced international environment. Must be self-motivated and able to operate with minimal guidance and succeed in a highly competitive arena.
