  • Develop functional descriptions including sequential control logic definition, and interlock definition
  • Review and check calculations, design models and drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned
  • Work with designers in other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate designs
  • Prepare bulk material quantity takeoffs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline
  • Develop work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic designer tasks based on input and direction from supervisor when assigned
  • Work independently and take initiative to research information to complete assignments within the budgeted time

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Minimum 10 years engineering experience in the mining water, wastewater, or chemical industry
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control networks
  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation selection for various processes
  • Strong knowledge of industrial processes in various industries
  • Strong knowledge of control applications including control loop definitions and interlocking systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Instrumentation / automation engineering
  • Registered as a professional engineer in Ontario /Alberta/BC
  • Works independently in scheduling and completing tasks
  • Makes decisions of moderate complexity with some input and review from senior staff
  • MS Office competent
  • Solid organization and time management abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High level of personal integrity with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as dictated by project demands
