Lead, Product Marketing

Job title: Lead, Product Marketing

Company: Valeyo

Job description: Who we are

Valeyo is a leading Canadian-based solutions provider to the financial services industry. In addition to being a leader in loan origination technology, we are a trusted distributor for industry-leading carriers and service providers across Canada. Our partners’ products strengthen our proprietary technologies and expand our suite of lending and insurance solutions. With more than 40 years of business excellence behind us, Valeyo unites a diverse group of insurance, technology, business, and marketing professionals with a common purpose: to help our clients thrive through strong partnerships. Through the combination of our services-driven vision and distribution expertise, we can push further and faster to provide our clients with a broader range of financial solutions for their customers.

As an organization, we subscribe to the concept of winning as a team, working together, and implementing the best ideas put forward. Guided by our core values of accountability, partner-centricity, teamwork & collaboration, results-orientation, integrity, and passion, we take a unified approach to achieving our shared purpose: accelerating our success and that of our clients by building better businesses.

Who we need

At Valeyo, we are intent on dominating the financial services market with our cutting-edge insurance and technology business solutions. To this end, we are looking for a Lead, Product Marketing to shape the voice of our product suite, build the Valeyo brand, and solidify our position as a leading partner and provider. You will spearhead the development of strategies and execute integrative marketing initiatives across multiple platforms, in support of our organizational goals and priorities.

Who you are

You are a marketing professional with hands-on experience working in traditional and digital marketing. You are a strategic thinker, able to map out plans and execute them in collaboration with cross-functional teams within an organization. You are eager to gather market knowledge, identifying trends that can be leveraged to improve product positioning and marketing efficiency. You prefer to jump in and take charge of projects, taking on responsibilities instead of delegating them to others.

What’s in it for you

Organizational impact. You want to be a part of an organization where your work truly makes a long-lasting difference. At Valeyo, you will have the chance to chart out the foundational framework that will guide the direction of the future marketing practices for our business. You will set precedent by building new strategies and operational procedures that will be adopted for years to come.

Operational autonomy. You will be an integral part of fleshing out Valeyo’s product marketing strategy from the ground up. In this new role, you will have the freedom to introduce new tools, plans, and approaches to promotions and campaigns, testing their effectiveness within the overall brand improvement spectrum.

Career growth. You want to work in an environment where your experience eventually counts towards your career development. As you continue to establish yourself in our marketing team, there are opportunities for you to take on more responsibilities and expand your role as our organization structure strengthens.

What you will do

  • Schedule marketing initiatives. You will plan out the marketing activities and initiatives each year, researching the most pressing elements and prioritizing them accordingly.
  • Develop the go-to-market strategy. You will leverage your research and knowledge of market trends and target audience profiles to develop a plan of action in reaching them with relevant, engaging content.
  • Manage the development and execution of marketing projects and strategies. You will take charge of completing marketing objectives as you’ve planned them, overseeing digital and traditional marketing campaigns and initiatives in harmony with the overall brand message and corporate strategy.
  • Define product value proposition. You will work together with the development, solutions, and partnership teams to define product positioning for our product suite and establish winning value propositions for each of our target audiences.
  • Understand our products. You will maintain a thorough understanding of our product suite, along with those of our clients and competition, with the goal of using your knowledge to drive business improvement.
  • Report on marketing performance. You will regularly monitor the performance of marketing initiatives, assessing them against the overall company goals. You will communicate the status and results of these activities to organizational stakeholders, providing regular reports and ad hoc insights surrounding key initiatives.
  • Collaborate. You will liaise with cross-functional team members in the planning and execution of launches for new products and releases.

What you bring

  • The education and experience. You have a completed degree in business or marketing, and a minimum of five years of experience in B2B marketing, preferably in the financial services. You have a background in planning and execution of traditional and digital marketing campaigns across social networks and have demonstrated expertise in launching new products. You are also capable of conducting market research and developing compelling narratives for content creation.
  • The software proficiency. You have a working knowledge of marketing platforms and content creation applications such as WordPress and Elementor. Your command of the Microsoft Office Suite is exceptional, and you have an understanding of analytics platforms such as Google and Adobe.
  • The project management skills. You are strategic in your execution of tasks and can effectively meet tight deadlines while maintaining the quality and accuracy of output.
  • The multitasking skills. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can work on multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high attention to detail throughout.
  • The interpersonal skills. You are a great communicator, able to convey information eloquently to your team. You are confident in your delivery, capable of making presentations to stakeholders when required.

The Valeyo Way:

Through collaboration and innovation, everything we do at Valeyo is focused on people – those we help and those we hire.

It’s #thevaleyoway to empower our people with autonomy to make decisions that align with our values, to treat each other with compassion focusing on what we can accomplish as a team; and to recognize our individual and collective efforts.

We share a passion and drive for success and are a proudly diverse team. Embracing our differences enhances everything we are involved in from our social awareness as an organization, to our creative problem solving, to the communities we support.

We offer our team the best of both worlds: a fast-paced, innovative FinTech environment and an established organization. This includes:

  • A healthy, fulfilling work-life balance through a flexible hybrid work model, a Health and Personal Spending Account. Plus the comprehensive benefits and perks of a financially stable organization including Group Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with a company match for Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP) and a generous paid-time-off policy including vacation, personal/sick time, wellness day and statutory holidays.
  • A continuously evolving people-first environment that takes time to have some fun (virtual team building events including scavenger hunts, charity drives, wellness challenges, photo challenges, and virtual social events, including team lunches, and once we’re able to safely do so, awesome potlucks, costume competitions, and karaoke battles) while providing access to professional development opportunities through training and educational assistance programs.
  • A bigger than us outlook. Every year we offer $1000 grants to students who are credit union members. It’s just one of the ways we support financial opportunity and growth beyond our virtual walls and in the community.

If you have 70% of the qualifications we are looking for and want to be part of success, we encourage you to express your interest. We can’t promise it will be a fit, but we do promise to consider your experience. Apply now.

Valeyo is committed to providing a barrier-free work environment in concert with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code. As such, Valeyo will provide reasonable accommodations available to applicants with disabilities upon request during the recruitment process. Please contact careers@valeyo.com for accommodation requests.
