Job description: WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.Position SummaryThe Manager, Global Marketing Partnerships will be responsible for managing key strategic NBA & WNBA marketing partner relationships in Canada, with the goal of growing/developing these relationships by realizing both league and partner objectives.Major Responsibilities
- Independently lead day-to-day account management for several key accounts, including approval of partner advertising, media, events, branded content, PR, and other related activation plans utilizing NBA or WNBA marks or assets.
- Independently build and deliver presentations related to NBA or WNBA league assets.
- Track and manage contractual deliverables and all related expenses.
- Provide partnership expertise in the comprehension of contractual elements and understanding of partners’ marketing/business goals objectives, target audience and competitors in a variety of industries.
- Update deal management system and contracts as required while managing budget and profit expectations.
- Plan strategy to execute all contractual deliverables each year including identifying potential areas for upsells and expansion of current contract.
- Work closely with the NBA Head Office to identify synergies and opportunities for activation in Canada and global markets.
- Keep the Director of Global Marketing Partnerships – Canada, informed of all issues and status of accounts; escalate as necessary.
- Lead negotiation of renewals and upsells in partnership with other colleagues as applicable.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- 4+ years sponsorship, account management and event experience.
- Highly organized with proven project management skills to balance multiple projects at once.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to lead complex projects from concept to delivery and measurement.
- Strong business development skills including excellent presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve challenges within a matrixed organization.
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills in storytelling, design, and presenting.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Major in Marketing or Business preferred.
