Closing Date: August 28, 2025Duties
- Performs daily routine anesthesia and respiratory equipment checks, and troubleshoots as required
- Performs essential preventative and corrective maintenance/repairs on anesthesia and respiratory equipment
- Stock operating rooms and remote areas where anesthesia provides services with Anesthesia and respiratory equipment including sensors, supplies and cables
- Keeps track of inventory and ordering supplies, maintaining adequate stock of anesthesia and respiratory supplies
Qualifications
- At minimum, completion of high school with diploma
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary Electronics Technician program or Medical Device Reprocessing/Medical Device Sterilization Program, preferred
- Minimum of 1 year practical and related experience in a health care setting, working with respiratory therapy equipment, preferred
- Experience with electronic supply ordering system, such as EREQ preferred
- Computer proficiency
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation, an asset
- Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.), an asset
- Knowledge of applicable Hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and practices, preferred
- Standard First Aid/ Basic Rescuer Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) certification, an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate as an active participant with others in assisting with the delivery of care to patients
- Ability to perform responsibilities in a courteous manner
- Ability to maintain and protect patient confidentiality
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of medical terminology, an asset
