Role Mandate:

The Sr. Manager, Marketing Productivity supports the transformation to and enablement of a data and insights-driven marketing organization. They build and maintain close collaborative relationships with enabling partners across LCL to effectively leverage data, tools and expertise, and develop and implement best in class practices for marketing productivity, insights, analytics and measurement capabilities within the marketing organization. They support Brand teams by delivering capability support and expertise, while also upskilling Marketing team members on effectively using data to inform marketing strategies and plans

Core Responsibilities:

  • Productivity: Works with LCL partners to access and use relevant data, analytics, customer research and trends, to enable leaders across the Marketing organization to formulate insight driven strategies. Translates Marketing’s strategic priorities into associated insights & analytics needs, and a plan to support and address needs effectively. Oversees the development of brief templates that incorporate productivity metrics, to be leveraged consistently across the Marketing organization
  • Marketing Measurement: Leads the development of a marketing measurement framework and dashboard, including defining KPIs and establishing baseline benchmarks to assess marketing campaign performance. Incorporates both stakeholder input and external research to ensure the framework reflects leading practice. Works closely with Marketing Brand teams, Loblaw Agency, Loblaw Media, and Loblaw Digital to implement and measure strategies based on established baseline metrics
  • Partnership: Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with relevant teams across the organization (e.g., LD, Customer COE, DI&A, Divisional Analytics teams, Loblaw Media) to advocate for Marketing’s measurement and insights needs, and ensure accessibility of required inputs. Builds a knowledge of LCL’s currently available assets, tools and capabilities, and promotes the advancement of data & insight capabilities that align to Marketing’s priorities
  • Upskilling & Change Management: Oversees the development and delivery of programs to upskill Marketing teams in productivity, insights and analytics capabilities to enable data-driven marketing plans / briefs and use of data as a core component of marketing strategy development
  • Innovation: Pursues leading practice and innovative strategies to bring best in class marketing productivity and measurement practices to the marketing organization
  • People Leadership: Manages team performance against strategic objectives and KPIs through mentorship and professional

  • Definition of baseline KPIs, metrics, and measurement framework and supporting processes

The Surface Product Marketing Manager is the local Surface business group leader and subject matter expert who drives attainment of the billed revenue and unit targets, profitably, through marketing activities, through-partner / direct sales programs and incentives.

The Surface mission is to give people the best experience with Microsoft devices to transform industries and the way people get work done. Your role is to focus the sales and marketing teams across the subsidiary on how Surface can help modernize our customer’s workplaces as organizations look for ways to transform their businesses, recruit, hire and retain the best employees, and attract customers who are buying in new ways.


Responsibilities


Our core priorities for the Surface business are:
  • Innovate the Commercial Surface business model, Grow & Evolve the Channel

Your responsibilities as a Surface Commercial Product Marketing Manager include:

Planning
  • Lead the subsidiary efforts to launch new services Devices and Accessories. Ensure local PR, marketing and sales efforts including Early Adopter Program are aligned and ready at announce.
  • Develop strong partnerships across business groups, Surface Specialists, Account Executives, and the entire selling ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with the Surface Consumer team to ensure that plans and offer strategy are aligned.

Execution
  • Deliver forecasting accuracy for inventory planning, increasing Surface portfolio sales and premium mix vs. budget.
  • Strengthen customer engagement through customer engagement programs.
  • Manage End-of-Life transitions during product launch periods.
  • Showcase Surface value through marquis brand and customer stories and local commercial digital marketing to increase KPIs across the marketing funnel.
  • Drive local marketing efforts including Account Based Marketing, PR, digital, and events, to increase committed sales pipeline coverage and through partner sales.
  • Deliver great Surface experiences through internal events and presence in local industry/trade events.

Measurement
  • Awareness. Grow the of awareness, perception and consideration (launch +90 days) in local market.
  • Customer Stories and Case Studies. Develop number of customer stories and case studies showcasing the best of the Surface portfolio
  • Billed Revenue. Increase commercial billed revenue and % attach to Microsoft 365 deals
  • Drive a high Surface premium mix.
  • Market Share. Grow share in the premium computing category.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary purpose of this role will be to focus on generating new customers and leads through paid advertising and digital marketing, as well as assist in managing and improving our testing programs.

PPC (60%)

  • Manage and build on our current PPC free email acquisition campaigns, and expand into paid subscriber acquisition and wealth management lead generation.
  • Launch and optimize our PPC campaigns on search platforms (e.g., Google AdWords, Microsoft, Facebook) to ensure their success and to identify opportunities to scale.
  • Perform weekly PPC tasks, such as keyword research, negative keyword mining, bid adjustments, and writing attractive and concise copy for adverts.
  • Landing page split-tests and optimization.
  • Technical setup of tracking scripts and conversion event codes.
  • Recommend new strategies based on data and testing.
  • Track KPIs to assess performance, pinpoint issues and improve ROI.
  • Help create weekly and monthly reports for management (e.g., dashboards).
  • Keep abreast of PPC and digital marketing trends.

Lead Generation (30%)

  • Work with manager to build digital marketing strategies for additional lead generation marking support for wealth management – email and website.
  • Create and implement testing opportunities to showcase value and bring new leads into the sales funnel.
  • Dive into business performance data to understand what’s working (and not working) and make necessary adjustments.
  • Present findings and make recommendations based on your analytics.

Testing Program Management (10%)

  • Coordinate our testing & optimization program to empower marketing with data driven insights.
  • Collaborate with your marketing colleagues to drive continuous improvements in the testing program, including implementing industry best practices in methodologies, technologies, and automation.
  • Act as primary testing & optimization subject matter expert. Maintain a testing backlog, coordinate execution of key tests across the organization.
  • Create a testing knowledge base by recording successes, failures and trends accumulated across tests, and effectively communicate these learnings and insights.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • BSc/BA in Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing PPC campaigns across all platforms.
  • Proven track record of exceptional PPC results.
  • Advanced Google Analytics certification. Google Ads certified.
  • Experience with digital reporting, tagging, tracking and analytics, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with conversion optimization, UX design, and email and website marketing.
  • Passion for testing marketing efforts.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Moderate to advanced Excel experience (pivot tables, graphs, etc.).


OTHER SKILLS/TALENTS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Analytical thinking with strong math skills.
  • Ability to uncover insights from data and use quantitative methods to answer questions and to find opportunities for optimization.
