Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join their team in Toronto, ON.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining all aspects of the company’s environmental health and safety programs. This includes ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial, and local regulations, conducting safety training for employees, and creating and updating safety procedures and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all regulations
– Conduct safety training for employees on topics such as hazard recognition, PPE requirements, and emergency response procedures
– Investigate accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
– Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility and equipment
– Develop and update safety procedures and policies as needed
– Work closely with management to promote a strong safety culture within the organization
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
– 5+ years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
– Strong knowledge of federal, provincial, and local safety regulations
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is an asset
