Canada Protection Plan is looking for an Assistant Vice President, Marketing, Canadian Division to lead the Marketing function and oversee the strategic direction for the development, implementation and management of innovative marketing programs to drive Customer and Distribution Partner education, awareness and engagement. Create demand for products and services, increase website traffic and conversions and help meet sales targets and other business goals and objectives through various digital and traditional (TV and print) channels. The incumbent will forge close partnerships with business leaders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual strategic review and planning cycle for marketing as part of the overall strategic planning process
  • Provide leadership to the department for strategic planning and plan implementation
  • Provide leadership and direction to the retail and distribution marketing teams
  • Improve consumer and financial advisor experience by evaluating the end-to-end experiences across multiple channels (digital, radio, television, and print)
  • Establish measurement framework (ROI and KPIs) and develop best-practice analytics and reporting capability to measure and report marketing campaign performance and optimize marketing strategies and media mix
  • Make recommendations based on quantitative analysis of website usage, consumer behaviour, activities, engagement, and conversions across various marketing channels
  • Oversee the implementation of strategies to drive online traffic and enhance usability, design and content
  • Develop, plan and optimize all web, SEO/SEM, email and social media campaigns
  • Enhance strategic online brand and product campaigns to raise brand awareness
  • Oversee the review of marketing collateral and website content
  • Be accountable for brand guidelines
  • Build and manage relationships with third party and agency partners
  • Promote marketing best practices across the organization for all stakeholders

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Completion of a University degree (Business or Marketing) or equivalent experience; MBA is an asset
  • 7+ years of experience in a digital marketing and strategy role preferably in the financial services sector
  • Senior management experience working with marketing teams
  • Experience as part of a sales team an asset
  • Life and health insurance experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated success in driving business results in a B2B and B2C, corporate or professional services company, with particular emphasis on digital marketing, content marketing, social media and analytics
  • Thorough understanding of digital technology, website and mobile development, including methods to leverage social networking to achieve business results
  • Knowledge and experience with CRM (Salesforce) and marketing automation platforms (Marketing Cloud)
  • Experience using analytics platforms: Google Analytics, social analytics and web/data analytics, mobile technology implementation and email marketing
  • Experience executing search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM) and online (paid search and display) advertising campaigns
  • Excellent written verbal and oral communication and presentation skills
  • CFP, CLU, RHU, designation an asset
  • Bilingualism (English and French) an asset

Y
our experience and education

  • You have a University degree in marketing, or a related field
  • You have 4 – 5 years of related experience, preferably in a B2B environment
  • You have prior paid media and reporting experience, are a strong collaborator with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • You have a passion, performance driven mindset and well-rounded understanding of digital marketing technologies (e.g. content management systems, marketing automation tools, analytics platform, CRM, and event management tools), with demonstrated experience implementing, training, trouble-shooting, and enhancing these tools and processes.
  • You have experience with Google analytics and any marketing automation platform is a must (preferably Marketo)
  • You have proven expertise in digital media platforms and performance driven campaigns on Facebook, Google Ads and other third party ad servers.
  • You have demonstrated understanding of digital marketing, including websites, email marketing, social media, SEO, SEM and related technologies
  • You have superior problem-solving and analytics skills in order to inform and make data-driven decisions
  • If you have experience with HTML, SQL, and Python, it is considered an asset
  • You have strong knowledge with PowerBI, Tableau or other data visualization

The Opportunity:

We’re currently hiring for a Digital Marketing Specialist, Website and CRM in our Toronto location (currently remote). This position will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of all CRM requirements for our marketing websites (paymentsource.ca, nowprepay.ca, directpaynow.ca and the company intranet). Advanced knowledge of Hubpsot and inbound marketing best practices will be required for this role as the position will be the main point of contact for the company’s CRM tool. The incumbent will work closely with the Director, Marketing and Communications to ensure brand compliance in all web and CRM marketing projects and activities, and will be responsible for building out all new Hubspot template requirements using HubL and CSS coding languages. The Digital Marketing Specialist, Website and CRM will work in a fast-paced environment, which requires flexibility, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • As the daily contact for updates to our Hubspot and WordPress hosted websites, the successful candidate must be an expert in these areas as they will be responsible for maintaining the company’s CRM instances. This will include: managing marketing automation/workflows, list management, contact management, blog posting, press release posting, updates to product pages, corporate pages, career postings, marketing campaign landing pages, A/B testing, website optimization, website personalization, promotional pages, and institute web and marketing best practices across all sites.
  • They will create new website/email//CRM templates, using their knowledge of HubL, CSS, HTML and other coding languages, as needed for marketing campaigns, and suggest how best to visually design these assets to achieve marketing objectives.
  • They will actively seek out website improvements and suggest new courses of action based on those findings. This will include being a vital team member on any future web migrations or redesigns on the marketing websites.
  • They will be the website champion for the marketing website properties and demonstrate to stakeholders ways the website can help achieve campaign goals, benefit campaigns and increase prospect/customer product knowledge via this medium.
  • They will be expected to keep all current websites compliant with regulations (including AODA , French Language, and CASL requirements), keep up with new digital/web marketing trends, design, and tools, and report back to the marketing team with suggestions.
  • They will be responsible to review any provided /proposed web copy for SEO efficiency and suggest edits as appropriate.
  • They will manage the Hubspot marketing contact database and any additional databases created in WordPress or Mailchimp for CASL compliance.
  • They will report back on analytics of all sites, including providing campaign and email data, to marketing team members as requested.
  • A portfolio of work is encouraged of all applicants.

Must Have:

  • 4+ years of Web Administrator/Specialist experience in ia Marketing Environment comfortable working within brand guidelines
  • Experience creating and maintaining Marketing website content management system websites, ideally Hubspot
  • Experience with Inbound Marketing strategies and tactics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HTML, CSS, HubL, and other coding languages.
  • Experience with promotional email best practices, web technologies, video and image formats
  • Good understanding of web design, user experience best practices for websites and asset management while working within a brand guideline environment
  • Knowledge of AODA/accessibility and CASL requirements
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of database management (for marketing contact databases)
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and other analytics programs
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • As this role will interact with several internal/external stakeholders, a team oriented viewpoint is a must.
