Purpose:
The Division of Students provides services, programs and facilities that foster academic success, student development and community engagement. Supporting the Division, VPS Communications & Marketing (the Unit) creates strategic, timely, targeted and engaging student-centric communications. Under the direction of the Director, Strategic Communications, the Manager, Content Strategy is responsible for the development, management, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of the Division of Students’ content strategy and unit-specific marketing and/or communication plans. The Manager will use their experience with market segmentation to develop tailored SEO-optimized communications to generate heightened ROI and results. Core elements of the position are digital storytelling, cross-platform narrative, student-centred stories and strategic, integrated communications. The Manager provides daily support to the content team, ensures that projects and plans are in line with Divisional strategic goals and objectives, resources are identified and allocated to execute plans, and initiatives are monitored for effectiveness and revised as necessary. To facilitate this, the Manager will have strong budgetary and financial literacy. The Manager will work collaboratively with the Manager, Development & Operations and Manager, Digital Marketing & Special Projects to align student-facing communications across multiple platforms and channels. The Manager ensures the development, implementation and maintenance of effective marketing and communication processes and procedures. The Manager works with Faculties, campus partners and Communications & Public Affairs to co-ordinate content used throughout the student life cycle and ensure adherence to brand standards. This position requires a student-focused professional who shares and lives the Division of Students’ values: Respect, Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Care and Inclusion. Education:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent, preferably in English, Marketing or Communications or related area of study. Certificate or diploma in marketing, digital marketing or analytics is an asset. Master’s Degree in related field an asset.

Experience:
Three years (3) related experience developing content strategy and marketing plans, project management, content development and creation including photography and videography, analysis of results against performance, people management experience preferably in a unionized environment.

Skills:

– Demonstrated superior content development skills including copywriting, long- and short-form content development, structural editing, copyediting, interviewing, fact finding.

  • Demonstrated excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Advanced attention to detail and demonstrated ability to synthesize and integrate knowledge (i.e., connecting disparate pieces of information).

  • Compensation:

York implemented a revised CPM Compensation Framework in 2019. The Framework is a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. THE POSITION

We are currently looking for an experienced Campaign & Content Activation Director for Fanduel Canada. This role will lead a team that manages our integrated media partnerships and content activations across various media and talent partners. Our partnerships include channels such as television, radio and digital including social (paid and organic), display and video. The ideal candidate will know how to develop and navigate key relationships to manage integrated campaigns focused on product/editorial integrations as well as content and talent development, activation and distribution for both pre-recorded and live content. Ultimately, the candidate will judged on how successful they are at leveraging the integrations and campaigns to drive revenue and new customer acquisition to FanDuel Sportsbook & Casino. This will be a highly visible role, both internally and externally.


THE GAME PLAN

  • Responsible for the successful concept development and execution of our media partner integrations, content activation and distribution across our external partners
  • Foster strong collaboration and gather inputs from internal teams including product and product marketing, risk and trading, growth, integrated campaigns, content, creative and operations, compliance and legal
  • Manage the entirety of scheduling and production activities required for original, custom or co-created content activation and distribution for both live and pre-recorded content
  • Develop a test/learn and measurement/attribution framework of best practices for our integrated media activations to help determine the success and scalability of our integration and content activation initiatives
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of planning, tracking and execution of your program budget
  • Conduct the valuations for talent, integrations and distribution deals as needed
  • Ensure that our campaigns are joined up beyond our integrated media, so that our channels have a consistent message and tone of voice
  • Establish and manage the content activation roadmap from development to implementation and insight
  • Bring more business wide exposure into key programs to drive further collaboration and decision-making
  • Contribute to negotiations for complex partner or talent deals and partner/agency scope and compensation models
  • Foster an environment that encourages intelligent risk taking, innovation and creativity
  • Direct project and campaign prioritization with functions outside of the media team through strong business case development and influence
  • Manage, coach and develop an internal team.


THE STATS

What we’re looking for in our next teammate

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in marketing partnerships, ideally within media, entertainment or sports
  • Multi-channel campaign and partnership experience across traditional, digital/social across a local and national footprint
  • Experience working with and developing relationships with content creators, production studios/teams, programming, media, talent and sales organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record and/or proven relevant experience in a performance marketing role at either an agency or on the operator side
  • Experience working with a consumer internet business with high customer engagement and relevant KPIs is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate a highly regulated and complex industry
  • Resilient and creative minded with a practical application to driving business outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of the sports media landscape with deep relationships
  • Ability to succinctly communicate both verbally and in writing, and provide clear direction and updates on projects

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary purpose of this role will be to focus on generating new customers and leads through paid advertising and digital marketing, as well as assist in managing and improving our testing programs.

PPC (60%)

  • Manage and build on our current PPC free email acquisition campaigns, and expand into paid subscriber acquisition and wealth management lead generation.
  • Launch and optimize our PPC campaigns on search platforms (e.g., Google AdWords, Microsoft, Facebook) to ensure their success and to identify opportunities to scale.
  • Perform weekly PPC tasks, such as keyword research, negative keyword mining, bid adjustments, and writing attractive and concise copy for adverts.
  • Landing page split-tests and optimization.
  • Technical setup of tracking scripts and conversion event codes.
  • Recommend new strategies based on data and testing.
  • Track KPIs to assess performance, pinpoint issues and improve ROI.
  • Help create weekly and monthly reports for management (e.g., dashboards).
  • Keep abreast of PPC and digital marketing trends.

Lead Generation (30%)

  • Work with manager to build digital marketing strategies for additional lead generation marking support for wealth management – email and website.
  • Create and implement testing opportunities to showcase value and bring new leads into the sales funnel.
  • Dive into business performance data to understand what’s working (and not working) and make necessary adjustments.
  • Present findings and make recommendations based on your analytics.

Testing Program Management (10%)

  • Coordinate our testing & optimization program to empower marketing with data driven insights.
  • Collaborate with your marketing colleagues to drive continuous improvements in the testing program, including implementing industry best practices in methodologies, technologies, and automation.
  • Act as primary testing & optimization subject matter expert. Maintain a testing backlog, coordinate execution of key tests across the organization.
  • Create a testing knowledge base by recording successes, failures and trends accumulated across tests, and effectively communicate these learnings and insights.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • BSc/BA in Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing PPC campaigns across all platforms.
  • Proven track record of exceptional PPC results.
  • Advanced Google Analytics certification. Google Ads certified.
  • Experience with digital reporting, tagging, tracking and analytics, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with conversion optimization, UX design, and email and website marketing.
  • Passion for testing marketing efforts.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Moderate to advanced Excel experience (pivot tables, graphs, etc.).
