This role oversees the firm’s website, including the technological requirements, processes, governance and especially the user experience. Is responsible for the evaluation of digital marketing tools and technologies required for the website/content optimization. Is responsible for all digital platforms including social media and other multi-media initiatives (podcasts and videos) in how they are produced and amplified. Brings digital marketing perspective to the Firm’s initiatives and oversees campaign development, implementation and effective measurement and reporting.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


1. Manages website/digital media initiatives including:

  • Drives the planning and budget management for digital marketing initiatives
  • Develops and manages marketing campaigns (paid and organic) from initiation to reporting, including but not limited to social media campaigns, SEO strategies and SEM
  • Leads website enhancement/digital initiatives: including proposing/managing personalization, multimedia production, channel mapping, etc.
  • Leads vendors through projects from strategy and discovery to completion (i.e., 3rd party web partner, Mondaq, Lexology, etc.)
  • Firm microsites: researching/selecting technology and leading implementation from testing to launch, working closely with internal teams and external vendors where necessary (i.e., Alumni Portal)
  • Leverages best practices and up-to-date trends to develop strategies to ensure the Firm’s message and brand is amplified across appropriate digital channels
  • Contributes to the development of process and policy guidelines for the website, Stella, social media and digital tools, ensuring compliance


2. Manages and maintains the firm’s corporate website including:

  • User experience and content optimization: execute backend workflow to support content changes, page content and technical design updates (i.e., page templates, code updates)
  • Website development: technological/solutions framework and process management
  • Testing and Implementation: design, formatting and navigation enhancements to corporate website, as applicable
  • Ensure website is optimized for SEO and best practices


3. Supports & Manages National and office-specific initiatives with key stakeholders and firm members:

  • Creates digital media tools and supporting documentation for Knowledge Management, Lawyers and Business Development teams
  • Manages the facilitation/development and amplification of digital media assets (i.e., digital videos, podcasts – including external platforms e.g., Apple podcasts, Spotify, etc.)
  • Consults on various initiatives including content amplification by selecting the best digital channels, formats, and strategies
  • Contributes to the maintenance and upgrades of the firm’s intranet (Stella)


4. Social Media Management:

  • Creates custom social media campaigns (paid and organic) including network-specific messaging, multimedia formats and tracking
  • Actively manages all social networks (LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) and provides guidance/best practices for Marketing and Communications initiatives
  • Provides one-on-one training and support for various firm members (i.e., Lawyers and staff)


5. Data Analytics and Reporting:

  • Responsible for designing data analytics based on the performance of a variety of digital initiatives including: social media content, blogs, print (vanity URLs), custom campaigns, etc., leveraging the Google marketing platform (Google Analytics, Search Console, Ads and Tag Manager) and reporting/visualization tools (Google Data Studio)
  • Develops website analytics processes, reporting and dashboarding, ensuring adherence to updated best practices


6. May perform other duties, as assigned, within the nature and level of the job


Job Specifications:


Knowledge & Experience:

  • University/college degree in marketing or digital communication preferred
  • 7-10 years related work experience (preferably in a professional services environment)
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and Content Management Systems (including Sitecore)
  • Experience with and knowledge of the Google Marketing Platform (Analytics, Tag Manager, Data Studio), experience in Data/Analytics visualization
  • Solid experience in social media platforms, paid/organic content development, management and reporting, knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and best practices
  • Knowledge of Video production, editing and file management
  • HTML experience
  • French an asset
