Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Director to partner with our diverse clients to develop Digital Transformation strategies that navigate the rapidly changing marketing landscape. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing frameworks that intersect Identity, First-Party Data, and Technology Stack solutions to deliver a privacy-first audience experience. The Associate Director will provide strategic, technical, and operational consulting by implementing Cardinal Path’s Digital Transformation framework and customizing our clients’ solutions.

You are a curious, analytical thinker who can see the system and understand how it works. You are comfortable with design-thinking and skilled with leading discovery sessions and client presentations. Staying current with new and next concepts to develop thought-leadership POV’s is second nature, and getting tactical with intricate details is not a chore.

This role will create an opportunity for a driven, passionate, and innovative consultant to shape Cardinal Path’s service offering and approach to Digital Transformation client strategy. The work is varied, challenging, and you must enjoy and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate the client’s approach to data, activation, technology, and delivery process and identify opportunities for evolving the platform to improve operational efficiency
  • Assess how to enhance client’s First-Party Data, Identity, Privacy, Audience Management, and Technology Stack to create new revenue streams and customer value
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and supporting projects to provide clients a prioritized path to transformation
  • Deliver vendor analysis and recommendations across the technology and data partner stack (CDP, DMP, Safe-Haven/Data Clean Rooms, BtB/BtC partners, data brokers, consent management, personalization, and related technology/data vendors)
  • Integrate strategies across Cardinal Path delivery teams and Dentsu partner agencies for a holistic solution approach (data, analytics, media, activation, and measurement)
  • Work across technology, data engineering, data science, and analytics teams to develop Digital Transformation solutions and client delivery.
  • Research emerging data and technology industry trends to improve the Digital Transformation framework
  • Publish blog posts and whitepapers emerging industry trends and experienced POVs
  • Estimated 25% business development, 50% client consulting, and 25% thought leadership/practice development time allocation

Qualifications

  • You have 5+ years of relevant solution design experience in selecting, implementing, and/or managing new marketing technologies, data, or analytic solutions
  • At least 2 years experience as a client-facing consultant (project and/or management)
  • Digital transformation related work that has demonstrated capability advancement for an organization is desired.
  • Understanding of the marketing technology ecosystem, identity solutions, marketing science, and online/offline activation tactics
  • Comfortable with creating a business case for transformation with supporting ROI analysis
  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams/clients to develop solution designs and requirements
  • Excellent storytelling, presentation, and communication skills
  • A degree in computer science, analytics, or related field is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the coordination, tactical execution, tracking and day-to-day administration of the regional marketing and business development strategy and initiatives
  • Provide support to the region and Toronto/Toronto North Regional Marketing Leader in all areas of marketing including events, sponsorships, advertising, direct marketing, publicity, digital marketing, website and social media
  • With oversight and review by the Toronto/Toronto North Regional Marketing Leader, the RMC will develop and lead the implementation of office, client group and service-specific marketing strategies, programs and activities to support existing client retention, targeted pursuit plans and referral mapping
  • Coordinate client prospect programs in conjunction with other marketing-related initiatives
  • Work with leaders in the region to identify accounts where further value can be brought to the client, using account-based marketing approaches to engage with the client
  • Develop creative campaign briefs and support concept development phases
  • Gather and compile market research for planning purposes
  • Maintain marketing materials including promotional items, brochures and tradeshow equipment
  • Perform administrative duties specific to the marketing department such as updating and maintaining databases, client lists and preparing materials for distribution to clients
  • Measure, understand and report on the impact of marketing activities, including using the firm’s ‘Performance Reporting’ methodology (where applicable). Analyze the reporting information and make recommendations / adjustments to plans and programs where required.
  • Build profile and relationships in regional marketplace, including with local influencers, media and community (e.g. through attendance at local events)
  • Conduct other projects and ad-hoc activities as directed by the Toronto/Toronto North Regional Marketing Leader

Skills and Experience

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration specializing in Marketing, Communications, Project Management, English, Journalism or related discipline
  • Minimum of three years experience in a marketing capacity and a demonstrated understanding of the marketing process and project coordination
  • Digital Marketing understanding is an asset
  • Experience executing paid social media campaigns
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at a time while working independently
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A valid driver’s license is necessary as travel will be required
