Rogers Sports & Media is looking for an innovative, creative and engaging leader to join our Revenue Management team in the role of Director, Marketing, Trade and Marketing Operations.
The successful candidate will enable the business to i) serve the needs of Canadian advertisers ii) reach and exceed financial goals and iii) build the RSM brand and its assets by driving audiences and maximizing efficiency across all marketing channels.
This individual will have a seat at the RSM Revenue Management table and lead a team of dynamic Marketing professionals. You love advertising and content marketing, understand what drives our business partners to leverage our media assets because of our fans who watch, listen, and constantly want more stories, news, sports and entertainment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead B2B marketing team at Rogers Sports & Media, overseeing strategy and execution of large virtual/in person events and other content marketing initiatives that contribute to substantial revenue for the company
- Oversee creation and execution of annual marketing plan to deliver business objectives
- Lead priority cross functional projects such as Rogers Sports & Media’s Upfront, working with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead Internal Media Group which is responsible for campaign strategy and execution for all RSM brands including Sportsnet, TSC, News & Entertainment brands and corporate brand initiatives
- Be the single point of contact for anything related to B2B and Marketing Ops for RSM
- Transform marketing in support of sales, to ensure alignment with sales objectives and programs
- Accountable to ensure all RSM sales leaders are equipped with marketing and promotional materials and tactics to achieve their metrics and KPI’s
- Active participation in financial and strategic planning
- Collaborate with SVP/VP Leadership Team to ensure shared understanding of objectives & plans
- Regularly engage with other RSM marketing leaders to remain in line with overall business strategy, maximize return on tactics and identify opportunities to drive overall RSM success
- Create and nurture a culture of collaboration using data to drive continuous improvement
- Inspire and demonstrate collaboration and team effectiveness in Marketing
- Be a visible leader throughout the organization facilitating change
- Provide talent development opportunities to grow top talent and increase marketing bench strength
- Develop and lead RSM Corporate marketing initiatives including All IN and #WinWithRSM
- Contribute to BDU marketing strategy to maximize impact across partner channels
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Passion for and experience in the advertising industry
- Experience leading a marketing team
- Experience in leading brand definition, audience segmentation, planning, and execution, Attribution and content engagement.
- Experience improving and growing an innovative, forward-thinking, customer-focused, enthusiastic and business-oriented teams
- Dynamic interpersonal skills including team player that works well with counterparts from various functions/departments and ability to influence the work of counterparts without direct reporting accountability
- Ownership and accountability
- Understanding of key business KPIs and drive for continuous growth
- Strong relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to solve problems quickly, think creatively, and drive speed-to-market delivery, while optimizing outcomes

- Strong understanding of entire marketing cycle, from concept to deployment and monitoring
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and negotiation skills with ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical professionals
- Understanding and experience of digital channels
- Expertise in multiple areas of the online advertising ecosystem and deep understanding of platforms and vendors, and how they fit into the digital advertising ecosystem along with fresh thinking on how they may contribute to our plans for subscriber growth
- Thought Leadership & understanding of digital trends; possess a breadth of interests and maintain the ability to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, processes, approaches, and competitor offering
- Familiarity with successfully managing complex organizational structures and relationships
- A drive for continuous learning and high performance amongst a team
- A desire to collaborate, influence and lead amongst peers
- Passion and belief in the power of research and analytics to drive better decision making
