We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team. This role develops and implements multi-platform content strategies and reports to the director of marketing. This position will focus on content programs and campaigns, social media-specific activity, in addition to promotional programs, as required (e.g., tradeshow/conference, client events, award submissions and photography coordination). The position is also responsible for helping creative teams align content to business requirements; therefore, requires a deep understanding of the elements of successful content. Key markets are Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

Success is represented by the development of Stantec’s relationship with key clients, building of the reputation of the firm, and our success at winning work. The role also includes working with a larger Stantec team of Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations and Communications professionals to build our brand awareness and identify market opportunities for top line growth.

Your Key Responsibilities

Translate complex ideas into dynamic, engaging and on brand ideas

Provide a deep understanding of digital marketing and building brand awareness

Ensure that key strategic and brand messages and Stantec’s voice are consistent and communicated effectively to target audiences

Develop content and maintain campaign calendar in close alignment with the Public Relations (social media) team

Work in close partnership with SEO, graphic design, and digital marketing professionals to ensure that the content produced is aligned with the overall goals of each campaign

Establish a strong understanding of target audiences and develop strategies that map content across multiple channels to the various stages of their journey through the sales process

Measure and report performance of campaigns and assess against goals

Work with Marketing and PR Managers to complete digital marketing activities and define ROI for leadership

Keep abreast of trends and advancements in digital and social media marketing as well as emerging technologies and applications

Participate in larger Public Relations and Digital team meetings, as needed, to discuss specific content initiatives and contribute to brainstorm sessions for story and promotional campaign development and content marketing strategies

Secondary Responsibilities

Align promotional activities with business strategy and brand reputation through the implementation of the annual Marketing & Public Relations Plans

Develop promotion plan and execute events, webinars, conferences, and tradeshows

Educate and provide recommendations for in-person tradeshow exhibit space set up, including materials and giveaways

Determine requirements for virtual tradeshow platforms and evaluate opportunities to promote our presence and engage with participants; curate content to customize the tradeshow virtual booth template

Photography planning and execution

Lead Award submission in partnership with the Marketing team

Highly proficient with digital marketing systems, with a preference for enterprise systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, Marketo, and/or Hootsuite

Experience hosting webinars and digital events on commonly used platforms, such as Teams

Proficient with digital marketing analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, SEO tools.

Proven ability to use digital marketing data to inform digital strategy and tactics

Ability to collaborate effectively with creative professionals (writers, graphic designers, videographers) in a team environment, as well as to work autonomously

Experience presenting content and analytics to teams, including senior leaders

Familiarity with photography and video production is considered an asset

Education/Experience:

Post-secondary degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing

Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a content marketing/digital marketing, communications, or public relations role (agency experience or professional services industry experience preferred)

What you’ll work on:

  • Website Strategy and Project Management
  • Understand Clio’s business objectives, customers, prospects, product portfolio, and competition and apply this understanding to develop a marketing website and landing page strategy that caters to the audience’s needs, maximizing conversion for each segment
  • Lead, prioritize, and project manage digital marketing initiatives including microsites, website sections, and campaign landing pages across various teams (marketing design, web development, growth, content, and PMM)
  • Lead a team of web developers working on Clio’s marketing team

  • Lead website conversion rate optimization strategy in collaboration with our Senior UX designer and Senior Web Analyst
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests
  • Implement learnings from experiments across our online properties
  • Own the website conversion rate metric, measure performance against goals, and produce meaningful insights and reports for the business
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create and optimize landing pages prioritizing user experience and conversion

  • Lead, research, and develop technical search engine optimization strategies to rank for target branded and non-branded keywords
  • Collaborate with SEO content squad to execute SEO strategies to hit traffic and lead targets
  • Web Analytics & Tech Stack
  • Identify website trends and critical conversion and drop off points, and optimize the user funnel accordingly
  • Maintain an analytics framework on Clio’s web properties in collaboration with our Senior Web Analyst to inform conversion optimization efforts
  • Manage Clio’s marketing tech stack for the measurement and optimization of web strategies, including but not limited to Intellimize, Dragon Metrics, and GSC

What you may have:

  • You have experience in leading digital marketing strategy and function at a company;
  • You’ve done SEO and CRO before. You can speak with confidence about what made some of your past digital marketing campaigns and tactics successful;
  • You have experience leading/working with web developers and/or content teams to lead and launch website projects;
  • You learn new technologies and frameworks very quickly. You already have some experience with the following tools (or tools like them): Looker, Asana, WordPress, Google Analytics, Excel, SEMRush, Salesforce;
  • You’re not afraid of numbers. In fact, the prospect of digging into a new data source or big spreadsheet is a little bit exciting;
  • You’re an excellent communicator. You can distill complex ideas into a clear narrative for internal audiences;
