Principal Accountabilities:
In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the digital & CRM marketing team with content planning and management across all CRM channel deployments in email, push, website, app and paid social.
  • Plan and schedule campaign content across all CRM channels for deployment optimization, campaign coordination and program delivery.
  • Managing and update content calendars across all CRM channels to identify cross-campaign synergies and efficiencies that support the on-time delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Support in campaign briefing, development and execution across CRM marketing channels based on the national promotional calendar.
  • Responsible for CRM campaign deployment timelines and act as the liaison with internal teams and external agencies for review and approval of campaign content, including copy, creative and legal requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to regionalize & segment CRM communications through dynamic content across all channels based on campaign measurement and results.
  • Partner with Business Insights, CRM team and analytics agencies to optimize channel deployments (content, copy, design) based on measurement & results.
  • Responsible for updating & the maintenance of website and in-app content based on business requirements.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of marketing experience in digital marketing and/or digital project management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Communications
  • Knowledge of core digital marketing channels (email, push, app, web, paid digital, paid social)
  • Experience in executing multi-channel marketing campaigns through working with cross-functional teams and external agencies
  • Digital-forward thinker who is customer-focused, driven to innovate, and has strong initiative in a fast-paced agile environment

The Opportunity – Search Engine Marketing Manager (SEM)

As the Search Engine Marketing Manager you will help drive customer and ROI growth for the company. You will collaborate with a cross-functional group of marketers, developers, and data scientists to drive growth at FreshBooks. This is a hands-on role involving a variety of platforms including Google AdWords and Bing Ads.

What You’ll Do as a Search Engine Marketing Manager

Strategy development and execution

  • Ensuring a deep understanding of the overall business strategy and objectives
  • Act as a subject matter expert in paid search marketing, responsible for strategy and best practices to drive improved performance, supporting all marketing and digital channel efforts to ensure a consistent approach to winning in paid search
  • Evaluating current SEM account setup, developing new strategies to increase performance, and proactively presenting those to internal planning teams as required. Daily, weekly and monthly optimizations, including evaluating ad copy, ad formats, and ad groups, and implementing negative keywords and bidding strategies.
  • Regular analyses of Google analytics and landing pages to determine the impact on overall search results and web traffic and ability to direct site tagging strategy and successfully set up and manage performance-driven campaigns.

Ongoing improvement and evolution of channel offerings:

  • Lead the formulation of POVs and collaborate with both internal and external partners to drive adoption of new SEM platform opportunities and industry best practices paying special attention to innovations concerning targeting/personalization, audiences, measurement, and optimization capabilities and working with partners to understand Alphas and Betas in the market and testing and learning new search tactics and bidding strategies

Leading Technical Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of Google AdWords, Bing ads, Apple search ads, etc. Including maintaining certifications where appropriate
  • Ensuring a deep familiarity with pixels, their implementation, and testing to ensure they are working correctly including the evolution of campaign tracking/tagging and recognizing and troubleshooting data anomalies with vendors and internal teams as needed. Requires advanced knowledge of Google suite, third-party management systems and data handling
  • Build exceptional proficiency in the team with SQL, reporting tools, and web analytics (Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Bing, SEMRush, etc.). Build and maintain experience with Python and JavaScript/React/Redux

Managing Staff, Process and the Search Product

  • Ensuring that process and communication is efficient and accurate between cross-functional teams and search team. Refining this process is ongoing as required.
  • Coaching and mentoring direct reports – helping them advance their technical knowledge and skillset and training through practical exposure to tasks with close oversight, positive feedback and repetition. Providing explanations of the ‘why’ behind each task
  • Establishing deadlines and following up to meet deadlines and ensuring that workload is well distributed and there are fail-safes/backup plans for unplanned absences
  • Educating cross-functional colleagues and direct reports on the search landscape and pertinent technical issues – training colleagues etc., where appropriate/requested.

Managing the financial health of the channel through:

  • Accurate execution of media budgets and management of monthly targets
  • Forecasting budgets and pacing, ensuring reporting/forecasting as needed
  • Timely approval & reconciliation of media invoices

  • Data is able to be used to create decision making systems which will help Xero proactively manage the customer experience, marketing growth, and improve conversion rate throughout their journey
  • Marketing & Customer, Digital teams and leadership leverage learnings from data insights and make better fact based business decisions from it
  • Build our data-driven customer solutions, ranging from models to findings which changes actions, creates measurable improved customer value as well as revenue impact
  • Program recommendations and decisions are supported by robust data analysis

What you’ll bring with you – Technical skills

  • Strong data literacy skills earned through a mixture of experience with data
  • Ability to tackle unfamiliar domains and work with complex and diverse datasets
  • Advanced knowledge in SQL for data extraction, manipulation and analysis
  • Experience with Python would be a benefit
  • Experience in statistical analysis
  • Extensive experience in building predictive models
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics & Mixpanel Big Query a plus
  • Experience in building customer segmentation models
  • Experience in building digital campaign analytics frameworks
  • Ability to establish measurement and reporting frameworks
  • Experience delivering analytics in the form of visualizations and interactive dashboards using Tableau or Microstrategy
  • Ability to break down complex data and deliver meaningful, actionable insights to stakeholders in a clear and digestible way
