  • This position’s primary assignment is to support an acute patient population with a focus on General Medicine conditions. Coverage may also include working in various units and programs including inpatient Medicine, Surgery, Critical Care, and the Reactivation Care Centres (Finch and Church locations) as needed.
  • Providing appropriate assessment and treatment of referred patients/clients within an acute inpatient setting.
  • Prioritizing patient caseload to meet the needs of referred patients.
  • Recording client assessment, progress and discharge status.
  • Recording timely workload measurement data.
  • Works as a member of the health care team.
  • Flexibility in caseload and program assignment.
  • Able to manage patient caseload in a busy acute care setting.
  • Clinical supervision of clinical nutrition students/interns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Food and Nutrition.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
  • Completion of an internship program and a member (or eligibility to become a member) of the Dietitians of Canada.
  • 1-2 years clinical experience is preferred.
  • Experience in TPN an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical nutrition principles and evidence based nutrition practice
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to encourage, support and motivate patients and/or their families from a multi-cultural community.
