Job description: Company DescriptionJob DescriptionThis position assists our engineering/drafting team in creating and updating technical drawings, models, and documentation. This internship offers hands-on experience in CAD software, engineering design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects.Essential Functions

  • Support senior drafters and engineers in creating detailed structural drawings and plans
  • Assist in examining documents such as contract drawings, specifications, and change orders to verify completeness and accuracy of data according to designer’s drawings
  • Use CAD and Tekla software to produce technical drawings
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret design specifications and ensure alignment with project requirements
  • Review and adjust drawings to meet industry codes, regulations and project standards
  • Assist in communicating with project team members to coordinate drafting activities and resolve design related issues
  • Assist in the preparation of design documentation, reports and presentations
  • Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in structural drafting
  • Adhere to company policies and safety guidelines throughout all tasks and projects

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or equivalent, or certification from trade/technical school in a related discipline
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Tekla and other similar tools is required
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, specifications, governmental regulations, drawings and job specifications
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers
