UNLV Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting healthcare providers in delivering patient care, performing administrative duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Key Responsibilities:
– Assisting healthcare providers in delivering patient care
– Performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and administering medications
– Performing administrative duties, including scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and processing billing and insurance claims
– Ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic by maintaining a clean and organized work environment
– Providing excellent customer service to patients and their families
– Collaborating with healthcare providers and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care
– Participating in quality improvement initiatives and other projects to enhance patient care and operational efficiency
– Adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards
– Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
– Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
– Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
– Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
– Basic computer skills
– Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
